Sidewalk Snow Removal
- Case Date:
- 2/18/2015
Sidewalks not cleared at 612, 616, 619, and 700 north Washington
Sidewalks not cleared at 612, 616, 619, and 700 north Washington
At the southwest corner of East Third St. at the 45-46 Bypass, there's a pile of snow that makes it difficult for pedestrians to move from the sidewalk to the crosswalk (heading east) or from the crosswalk to the sidewalk (heading west). I had to dodge briefly into the lane for cars. I know it's hard to keep all of the corners clear for pedestrians, but that's a busy corner, and even in this weather there are still some pedestrians out and about along that stretch of E. Third.
City did not plow and treat streets i Hearthstone Village in either od the last two snows. Nature's Way has the contract for drive way and sidewalk snow removal in Hearthstone village has plowed the streets somewhat, but not treated them. My understanding is that these are city streets. they have always ben plowed by the city before and my understanding that these streets are city responsibility. Please correct this oversight. The sidewalk has not be cleared at 300 N. Park Ridge Road.
I am looking for the Jack Hopkins grant application information for the current year, and cannot find anything that is current. Google gives me an outdated webpage (https://bloomington.in.gov/documents/viewDocument.php?document_id=6601) and I find this page (https://bloomington.in.gov/jack-hopkins) with the 2015 committee members, however, there is no date or application available on that page. I hope you can update the page with more information, or at least someone to email!!
E Rogers Rd just east of High St roundabout - a several block long section with many large, shallow areas where first or second layer of pavement missing. Need to be patched or lower levels of paving will become involved.
I am surprised, as I rode the bus a few days ago and to see a woman, handicapped in a mechanical chair strapped down only to see her and the chair overturn. To my surprise after helping the woman up and asking if she needed medical assistance, she stated no tand that incidents like that happen often and even if she needed help the bloomington transit never offer to help. You would think that it would be in the best interest of the transit system to take care of individual with special needs, as with many witnesses such neglect of elderly and special need individuals can cost the city millions.

I have experienced several potholes around town and have made a list of several locations: 1. The west bound lane of East Rogers Road, between South High Street and Winding Brook Circle. 2. The Roundabout between South High Street and East Winslow Road. 3. Several spots on the north bound lane of South Clarizz Blvd. Thanks.
