Dead deer on shoulder of High St.
There has always been speed limit signs across from my house and my neighbor’s house (2 specifically are no longer there). They have been taken down since all the construction of our new 10 ft sidewalks. They need to be replaced! Many people are driving 40-50 miles an hour down our street now! With our new extra wide sidewalks, our street has heavy pedestrian traffic in addition to the school just down the street. It may also be partly because it looks like a very wide open road with the huge sidewalks, people feel they can go as fast as they want. A new flashing speed limit sign may be warranted now that the area has changed. Thank you! Please call me 317-362-8947
Asphalt along edge of roadway (Sussex) is crumbling and falling into gutter. I've stacked up a pile of asphalt here in front of 2006 Sussex. The resulting rough transition from the street to the gutter is in need of repair.
We live a little over a mile due east (Sycamore Knolls neighborhood) of the Bloomington South football field, and yet we can hear their PA system from inside our house with all the doors and windows closed. This has happened on multiple occurrences now over the past month or so. Do they need to operating so loudly? If not, can they be please be advised to lower their volume?
Can we start to have a conversation about the deer population in this town? I walked Sussex Dr yesterday and counted ten deer (!) in 3 groups: doe and 2 fawns, doe and 3 fawns, doe and 2 fawns - all within 2 city blocks!! As we approached the first group using the city sidewalk the mother agressively came after us, stomping her foot. We had to cross the street and walk very slowly to avoid her defensive aggression. This is all well within the city limits. Why should I have to fear them when I'm walking around my own neighborhood? They've already forced several of ourneighbors to install concentration camp fencing to protect their landscaping. Many of our other neighbors have all their landscaping in cages. I like watching deer, too, but come on now - at this point they are pests without a predator to keep them under control. Have we gone too far? Culling is in order. Note: I didn't even mention the costs of hitting one with a car or motorcyle.
