A cover for a water or gas line continually pops up in the street. If cars should hit it, it could cause tire damage or more. This has been reported previously but has not been resolved.
A cap for water access has been coming out and creating a possible problem for drivers. I have reported this a number of times and fixed it many times, including this morning. The next time, I'll take the cap home so that it can't cause problems.
The bus stop sign at the corner of S. Sare Road and E. Buttonwood Lane has been hit by a car and is leaning over. I've pulled it up as much as I can, but it should probably just be replaced or at least fixed straight. Thanks so much for your help! Travis Thickstun 2750 E. Buttonwood Lane Bloomington, Ind. 47401
Since about June/July last year, karate class is happening in my culdesac. At first it was a single student lesson, but then it turned into multiple students and multiple classes a week with parents/cars lining the street. There were 2 classes Sunday, another yesterday evening, and 2 more today. I'm almost positive the guy running classes is from MCMA which closed its dojo doors during the pandemic. We felt like this was okay when it started. One of the kids lives next door and it was one class here and there, but this is kind of getting out of control. I don't want to ruin it for the kids who are getting some activity, but I don't understand why they don't do this in the park. I guess my question is is there any problem with someone teaching karate classes in a public culdesac?
Rental house (too many renters) across the street from us facing Sare Road (right by Spicewood II sign) has a large sectional that has been sitting in driveway for a month. This is a nice neighborhood not accustomed to seeing debris sitting in driveways. There is also a large box truck that is continually parked on the grass. This is what happens when rentals are not inspected….the decks are falling off & the gutters are drooping…totally unacceptable. Thank you for checking on this situation. Please get back to me. It looks like the trash truck was leaking some sort of white liquid that smells putrid. It follows a line along the trash cans of all of our houses in the cul-de-sac. Can you please send someone to clean this up ASAP? We are putting our house on the market right now and this will be a deterrent for buyers. Thank you in advance for your help! Best, Jake
On early Wednesday, 7/2, one of the sanitation trucks picking up trash spilled white liquid on the roads along Spicewood II (Buttonwood, Cottonwood & Elderberry Lanes). A street cleaner came by Thursday but only did a portion of the streets and it didn't attempt to clean in along the east side of Buttonwood where there is a sizable amount of the spill. It's unknown what was spilled along every road but it's very gross and needs further attention by the City. Thank you.
Thanks Kelsey, The creek has been much clearer lately. I appreciate you following up. Usually when it is cloudy, it clears up in a day or two. I do watch it closely and will let you know, but unless you are able to get out right away, it may be difficult for you to see it when it is looking bad. Good luck with your new job, my guess is you are real busy. Mr. Horvath, the sediment in Jackson Creek at Rock Creek Drive may have been a result of construction in the watershed. There is one construction project upstream from your location that may have contributed sediment in the past, but according to our Planning Department who manages the grading permits, that site has since been stabilized. I was in the area last week and observed some utility work being done in the neighborhood, but can't say if that was what caused the sediment in the stream on 2/2/2019. I just began working for the City, so I apologize for my delayed response. If this happens again, please send in another report and I will be the one to answer it. Thank you, Kelsey Thetonia
The drainage from the street all runs down to the ONE drainage pipe and the interior or the structure that houses the pipe is deteriorating to the point that the bricks are washing out and piling up at the exit of the pipe. It's to the point that the entire system could fail and flood the home
