There are numerous close calls and way too many accidents at this intersection because cars on Grant aren't aware that cross-traffic on 9th doesn't stop. There was an accident this afternoon and luckily everyone was fine, but I believe it could have been avoided if the city put up a little "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" sign below the stop signs on Grant. Not clear which address to use. City-created, grassy area in traffic-control sidewalk extension into the street needs mowing. SW corner of Grant/9th. Is this the responsibility of adjacent property owners? If so, would that be Plantation North Apartments, apparently now being referred to as "Campus Walk North" (CRE Rentals)?
See case #188239 (SW corner of Grant/9th intersection.) Long grass is still a problem. Maybe assign this to someone other than "Jo Stong", because cases assigned to that person are sometimes not dealt with in a timely manner.

Just a suggestion for the next time any work is planned for Grant Street: At the intersections with both 8th and 9th streets, there are some storm sewer grates alongside the road that are too accessible, in that their design is completely open, with only a single metal bar across the openings. This allows animals and large pieces of trash to flow into the storm sewers. All the other grates in the neighborhood are more enclosed and safer. Might be good to switch these old ones out with ones that are similar to all the others and safer. Even a very small child might be able to fit into a couple of them, because the cross-bar on some of them is bent so much.

IU Packer trucks are having a hard time getting access to trash containers along 9th because cars are parking along the curb. The sidewalk was recently re-done but curbs have not been painted. Thanks Jill

homeless encampments are spreading throughout this area on 501 N Walnut St around peoples houses. Had filed a uReport with the number 192180 and nothing got resolved.
