Street Snow Removal
321 S Eagleson AVE

The City (?) plowed the alley to the east of 321 S Eagleson, creating a mound blocking several parking places. Two-fold request if this is in fact a City plow: 1) Please move the mound a little further north to open up private property parking behind 321 S Eagleson. 2) Please advise your plows to refrain from plowing additional snow and blocking the parking areas behind 321 S Eagleson's private parking areas. Thank you.

Street Snow Removal
402 S Henderson ST
- Case Date:

The two way bike lane on Henderson between Smith and Hunter is full of snow, piled there by snow plows. This is not a sidewalk but part of the city's bicycle infrastructure and the city should not plow snow onto it.

Street Snow Removal
1024 S Hawthorne DR
- Case Date:
- 1/9/2025
The path between weatherstone and hawthorne, part of the new Hawthorne-Weatherstone Greenway, has not been cleared of snow at all. Even worse, the plows pushed all the snow from Hawthorne into a huge pile blocking the Hawthorne end of the path, so that it is completely impassable. This is totally unacceptable treatment of brand new city infrastructure, which is intended to be a transportation route.

First, I want to thank you for keeping up with the snow and ice removal over the last several days! I know the city has been extremely busy clearing the snow and ice, and I cannot overstate how much your efforts are appreciated! I do, however, want to alert you to an issue that I've noticed at several intersections/crosswalks in this area. I noticed this issue at both the intersections of Henderson & Atwater and Henderson & Smith (hence why I've chosen a location between the two). I've attached a picture of the intersection at Henderson & Smith [taken at around 10:20 this morning, facing East] to illustrate.
These sidewalks have been cleared in one direction (generally toward campus), but the sidewalks that run East/West have been completely blocked off. The ends of these sidewalks are blocked by piles of snow and ice that are 2 or 3 feet tall - taller than the fire hydrants (see picture). This means that anyone who needs to use the sidewalk has to walk out into the road in order to cross the street, which puts both pedestrians and drivers at risk, especially when the rest of the street is covered in ice. Additionally, this is a HUGE accessibility issue - anyone who has mobility issues and/or uses mobility aids, has a service animal, or is similarly impacted by blocked sidewalks will be greatly impacted. These piles of snow will only get worse with the impending snowfall tomorrow, and these will be even more of an issue.
Again, I completely understand how busy the city is, and I imagine you're getting similar complaints every couple of minutes. Clearing one sidewalk, however, should not be at the detriment of another.
Thank you for your time and your efforts!
