The road visibility on this corner is not good. In situations when the road floods or a lot of snow it is very hard to see where the edge of the road is on the corner. This is the second car in a flooded ditch I have seen recently. Some kind of marker would be helpful.
Drainage or Runoff
609 S Fess AVE

My wife and I live nearby and pass by this area on our walk to Bryan park. For well over a year, I have noticed this section of the sidewalk between 609 S Fess and 605 S Fess is consistently wet, even when there has been no rain/snow.
When the temps fall and stay below freezing, ice accumulates on this area of the sidewalk, as it is doing right now.
I am convinced that there is either a natural spring, or a sump pump inside either 605 or 609 S Fess that is connected to a storm water run off drain that expels on the sidewalk. The water is issuing from three slit holes at the bottom of the brick wall outside of 609 S Fess, where that brick wall terminates and meets the limestone wall for 605 S Fess.
609 S Fess is managed by Sarge Rentals.
605 S Fess is managed by Wininger Real Estate.

Part tectonic plate, part aircraft carrier bulkhead--Houston, we have a problem.
It would seem that some utility repair of another has resulted in a steel plate the thickness of a very hefty mozzarella stick, length and width that could probably park a Smart Car, in the middle of the road. I suspect this formidable obstacle is the result of whatever adventure IU tasked itself with over winter break, as I observed their vehicles there, but that's not to say I'm 100% positive. Either way, the impact of this scrapper's dream was presumably originally mitigated with the pouring of some cold patch concrete around the edges, but alas, much has changed since. Tire impact after tire impact has slowly moved this plate, rendering the cold patch mostly useless. As steam billows out from around the edges, I imagine whatever was being fixed is still in the process of being fixed. But at the moment, it's like witnessing suspension-damaging continental drift. Aside from mounting this hulking piece of metal in a museum as a replicated piece of the Titanic's hull, creating a more subtle transition from pavement to metal would very much be appreciated.
Thank you and have a wonderful day.

In October, when fiber optic line was being laid in our neighborhood, the installers inadvertently ran it through our sewer line. A few days later, the breached line backed sewage into our house. We hired plumbers to snake and inspect the line and we were able to see the blockage was caused by the fiber optic line. The fiber optic installers created a patch around our sewer line, but we were stuck with a $700+ plumbing bill. We feel that the fiber optic line installers should reimburse us for the plumbing bill, but can’t connect with anyone. A guy named Mike Nally, who seemed to be a supervisor, took our info and pics of the problem and promised to pass them on, but we’ve never heard from anyone. Can you connect us to someone who can arrange for us to be reimbursed? I have tried to attach a photo of the bill as well as of the camera shots of the blocked sewer line.

Sidewalk & Curb Complaints
- Case Date:
- 2/7/2025
There's a huge hole left by the internet-cable installing company at the curb in front of my house, 1207 E Skylark Ct. This problem has been reported twice, tickets 192627 and 193023. Both tickets were closed but the problem remains. The contractor made a wan attempt to fill the hole, tossing some loose gravel into it, after I filed the first ticket. The attempt was useless and I filed the second ticket. It was closed without comment and, as far as I can tell, without investigation. The hole is now far deeper and wider. I realize it's likely false hope that you'll do anything more than close this ticket, forgive me, but after a winter of watching the hole grow, I'm asking again for a repair.
Thank you.
