Please see attached photo. This location is at 10th and Park and has been reported to the IU Grounds Dept. as a tripping hazard. The gray bucket is there to indicate a bus pickup for the Boy Scouts that are in town but the metal and the sandbags are blocking the sidewalk, our crews moved the items off the sidewalk and into the homeowners yard. East 7th is unique in that it is two parallel roads each with its own signage. Stop signs have been installed, removed and reinstalled at various intersections. No where else is there traffic going the opposite direction (west) on both sides of an eastbound vehicular lane. Nor is there another pair of lanes going east with a westbound lane in between them anywhere else in town. The stop signs become more critical due to the additional complexity. Going east the vehicular lanes cannot see their signs. The bike next to me yesterday blew thru every sign while pointing at drivers at the intersections. When the motorized bike, electric scooter etc. keeps going as he did the car driver will instinctively assume the same especially if there isn't a sign visible until the last minute. Delivery trucks, city maintenance vehicles, and trash bins blocking one or the other at times create confusion. Remove the trees and, if a barrier is deemed necessary, plant low bushes.
Hi there! It seems like every week there is an accident at the intersection of N Washington and 7th street. I’m wondering if you could put a stop sign there since it’s really dangerous for people driving and pedestrians crossing. Thanks!
The sidewalk on the west side of Fairview has been made hazardous by the property owner at 708 W 12th Street neglecting maintenance of their property for many years. The plants are growing into the public right-of-way, and the pine needle litter is so deep that when it is wet it is causing a slip hazard. It's been like this for at least three years and I am tired of neglectful property owners renting out their houses for income and not being good neighbors.
Traffic light at 17th and Woodlawn seems unreasonably timed. Attempting to go north or south on Woodlawn or make the left turn from Woodlawn to 17th has resulted in 2 minute or longer waits by drivers.
My apartment management company has not hired someone to mow the yard around the apartments. The grass is about 2ft in front of the apartments. I was told I could contact the City about this so that that City could help support Forest Ridge residents in motivating Birge & Held to take care of the landscaping.
The hole (and patch)m that was drilled in the north east part of the intersection of S. Lincoln St and Dodds ST by the fiber install people has washed out with the latest heavy rain storm. To my undertstanding you might be patching in this area soon with the other Potholes that are along S. Lincoln Street and Wylie ST. Thank you for your help!
