There's a huge hole left by the internet-cable installing company at the curb in front of my house, 1207 E Skylark Ct. This problem has been reported twice, tickets 192627 and 193023. Both tickets were closed but the problem remains. The contractor made a wan attempt to fill the hole, tossing some loose gravel into it, after I filed the first ticket. The attempt was useless and I filed the second ticket. It was closed without comment and, as far as I can tell, without investigation. The hole is now far deeper and wider. I realize it's likely false hope that you'll do anything more than close this ticket, forgive me, but after a winter of watching the hole grow, I'm asking again for a repair. Thank you.

Sewer backup yielded that Fiber Optic company damaged line between city's sewer line and my lateral line causing major back-up twice between October, 2024 and January 2025. I've spoken with Paul Edwards and Kyle Baugh about this. All Plumbing Todd Braner has been here several times. I have many bills related to this problem from Mann Plumbing, Commercial Service, and CORE Restoration and need to know how and where to submit these bills. I have spent well over $7,000 for plumbers and clean up crews to deal with flooding of sewage to my bathroom seeping under walls into hallway and bedroom. Please advise as to how to be reimbursed for these expenses caused by the failure of the City of Bloomington and/or the Fiber Optic company.

I am the HOA Board president for Windermere Woods. I have received comments regarding holes that were dug in the common area between the lower portion of Windermere Woods Drive and College Mall Rd. I honestly don’t know if it’s a sewer issue or something left from the installation of fiber optic lines. I’m starting with sewers due to the location of the holes. There are two storm sewer grates along the east side of WW Dr by CMR. If you go about 10 feet directly east of the grates, you’ll see the holes. Both are about 12-18” deep and I’m concerned someone may step into one and be injured. I’m happy to meet someone and show them the two spots. If it’s not a COB issue, I’ll reach out to the fiber optic people. Thanks.

Construction for hopewell neighborhood: driving west between rogers and walker. Today is the 3rd time there is a team working without a flagger directing traffic in the street. The work is being done with a bobcat of some kind blocking one lane immediately before a hill, where you cannot see oncoming traffic. I’ve called twice about this already. Thank you!

Is there any way we can have the intersection of 5th & Rogers St. traffic light automated? What will it take to use some demand sensors / cameras at this intersection? The signals churn through every 'mode' -- protected turn arrows when there is nobody in those turn lanes. This intersection has been a frustration for.... a long time. please help!? Ken Horrocks

Massive work is being done on our short street (S. Sare Rd.) - bulldozers, trucks, people. But a large white Cadillac SUV with something in the driver's seat, possibly a human, sits parked almost in my driveway. As I was trying to get out of my driveway this morning I had to steer around several vehicles. However, there was open space behind the white Cadillac SUV, plenty of room - it could have moved to make it easier for me to get past him. He didn't move! Perhaps he is stoned, asleep, drunk, stupid, or maybe it's a robot sitting in the driver's seat. However, IT, the body in the driver's seat, indicated no intention of being helpful. He was not in a City of Bloomington vehicle, but a private vehicle, so perhaps he was an intruder, a spy of some kind, or he was hiding out because it was a stolen vehicle and he thought he would be safely overlooked in all the disruption. Lots of scenarios are possible. But if the City of Bloomington is paying this incompetent person to sit like a dummy in his private, oversized car and block the way of citizens, he should certainly be fired, or he should not be paid if you are paying him to sit there, hour after hour, oblivious to his surroudings. Difficult to exit 1405 South Rogers Street parking lot onto S Rogers due to line of site obstruction (bush) on the property 1409 S Rogers Street. Consider requiring trimming bush back to clear line-of-site for exiting parking lot of 1405 S Rogers Street. It is difficult to visualize traffic travelling northbound due to bush/obstructed view.
