The fence that was installed along the border of a vacated alley is excessively tall. Can someone come out to this location to assess the height of the fence and the shed that is even taller that was built right on the property line. This fence blocks light and is very tall from my side of the property. I have other photos of this fence from different angles, but can't upload them here due to the limit of one photo upload.
The East-West alley in this location is not accessible by neighbors. This alley has not been vacated, but is blocked on both sides by gates installed by the property owner at 910 N Madison. The gate on the east side is topped with barbed wire and makes the gate on the back of my property that used to be accessible to the alley, no longer usable. These gates also block any pedestrian traffic from walking from the Habitat neighborhood to Madison Street or connecting to the alley in the Maple Heights Neighborhood directly on the other side of Madison. The blocking of this un-vacated alley with locks, gates, and barbed wire makes it inaccessible and gives the impression that it is solely for the use as a driveway for the property owner at 910 N Madison Street. Alleys are essential connectors in traditional neighborhoods like this one for pedestrians, wildlife, as well as for neighbors to access the rear of their property. I would like to be able to access the rear of my property through the installed gate once again. I have photos that show the area I am referring to, but am not able to upload them due to the limit of one photo upload. This alley would also be convenient to many people as a connector for walking to the western side of Maple Heights Neighborhood, Tri-North Middle School, or the public Mills Pool, but it is instead blocked for public use. I would like to request that someone come out to view this site and the fences for compliance with the alley being not vacated and for the use of barbed wire.
In 2019/2020, the Rogers Multiuse Path Project removed a large area of mature evergreen trees and shrubs. Before the project began, the city convened a public meeting at Sherwood Oaks church, where this project was presented. Neighborhood residents were under the impression (from what was stated at the meeting) that despite the construction and removal of mature trees and shrubs there was a plan to replace the mature trees and provide appropriate barriers to shield adjacent residences from Rogers Rd. Given that one of the adjacent neighborhoods is named “The Woodlands” it is ironic that the large swath of mature trees and shrubs was removed by the city. In 2020, the neighborhood inquired about the promised tree replacement plan and advocated in support of the tree replacement plan via email exchanges with a city employee. One can see that this lamp on the NE corner of the picnic area on Hopewell Commons has one of its pair of lights out. You might want to have the contractor replace this obviously faulty bulb.
The third street overpass over 37 needs to be shut down. It will collapse if urgent precautions is not taken immediately.
When does the city intend on finishing this section of road? Ever since the bridge was completed it doesn't look like any work has been done at all to finish this one bit of road at all, and it's been months! East-West traffic is already a nightmare for this county because of the construction on I-69, Second, and Third Street, and yet the one route that can really act as a good alternate route to help alleviate some of that traffic is hampered by this abandoned project. While the detours tell people to go down towards 11th Street, we all know that way too many people are cutting through the neighborhood where there are plenty of children trying to play outside. This is nothing but ridiculous!
ON WEST 3RD STREET, AT THE INTERSECTION OF 3RD & FRANKLIN, THE CROSS-WALK BUTTON IS GONE. THE LITTLE POLE IS STILL THERE BUT THE DEVICE IS GONE. PLEASE FIX AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THAT IS A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION BECAUSE IT'S A TURN TO GET TO SEVERAL RESTAURANTS & HOTELS. BUT ALSO, PEOPLE LIVE AROUND THERE WHO NEED TO GET TO THE BUS-STOP ACROSS THE STREET. THANKS
