When the street light was installed a few weeks ago, the company working for Bloomington had to come back and cut into the boulevard and the street. They patch the street but left the hole in the boulevard. I don't know if they're done: if they are they should come back and fill in the hole. If not they should come back and rope it off. The hole appears to go under to street. There are residents walking and could step into the hole and get hurt, possibly sprain and ankle or fall. Please note this corner is also a pick site for students riding the bus.

In Spring/Summer 2023, utilities contractors excavated a hole approximately 3x3 in the sidewalk that crosses the driveway for our home located at 3702 E Reed Ct. Bloomington IN. They were installing fiber optic or another cable -- AT&T or GigaBit or some other contractor. This hole was filled with dirt and then they "fitted the broken concrete pieces" back in the hole. Needless to say, it sank about 4". Then they poured concrete on top of the hole. They then ground down the edges to even out their work. It was a poor job and it is now unsightly and a serious tripping hazard. I've seen city workers replacing sections of sidewalks in Hyde Park and elsewhere. I would like to request that this section of sidewalk be added to the list of sidewalk repairs/replacements. Please let me know if you need additional details. Thank you for addressing this issue.

The speed bumps here are massive and are destroying my suspension. The speed limit is 25MPH in my neighborhood but I can't go more than 10MPH without my car bottoming out on the speed bumps or hitting my head on my car ceiling. I'm all for speed bumps enforcing a reasonable speed limit but having two gigantic speed bumps every block in my entire neighborhood is kind of silly. I have to drive over dozens of these a week when going to work and have now had to replace my struts ($900) and my shocks/shock absorbers are next ($800). I have a Toyota Camry, which is a pretty common and rather robust car generally speaking so I doubt my story is a unique one. Is it possible to lower the speed bumps? Thank you.

An area of new sod immediately adjacent to the sidewalk and between the sidewalk and street has collapsed (in some places to a depth of 9 inches) in such a way that it is unsafe for bicyclists or pedestrians who may veer off the sidewalk even very briefly. We believe this sod was laid after the ground was dug for installation of the fiber cable for Gigabit Now. We (University Baptist Church) are not certain of the best agency to contact about the problem, and we are hoping that you will either take care of it or direct us to the correct people to contact. To Whom it May Concern, I am an IU Student living in Jackson Heights. I choose to take the bus 2-3 times a day to get to my classes, in an effort to be environmentally conscious. The nearest bus stop is on 17th street past the gas station. There isn't any crosswalk/crosswalk lights on any side of the corner I have indicated. This puts myself, as well as any other pedestrian, at risk of being seriously injured. I've been in Bloomington since August and have, thankfully, avoided getting into any incident. However, I have just heard from my roommate, that she almost got hit by a car, as the driver wasn't paying attention and it's tricky for a pedestrian to decide when to cross when there aren't any indications to do so. I am really hoping a solution can be reached. I'd also appreciate any feedback on any way I can assist to help avoid a tragic situation. Thank you for your time, Yasmine El-Gohary

The bushes are overgrown and cover the sidewalk. It is hard to walk on the sidewalk without hitting ones head on the bushes.
