I am not sure what the owner of this building has planned, but it seems there has seem some slow work done to the house since my husband and I have bought and renovated our home a year and a half ago. In this time, we have seen animals come and go from this abandoned house, seemingly homeless people come and go from the basement and the windows boarded up. This home is in utter disarray. With so many homes in the prospect hill area being renovated and maintaining the historical feel, this is one of the few if not the only home that is a major eye sore on our neighborhood. I am not sure if there can be anything done legally to motivate the owner to do renovations more quickly or to just tear it town. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated to address this problem. Vegetation from the property at this corner is hanging over the sidewalk, preventing pedestrians from using it.

The ongoing trash problem at 1000 East Atwater continues. More rats have been spotted. There is now furniture that blocking the trash containers. This has been going on since August. Why is this landlord not held accountable? Why can't the dumpster be returned? For 30 years there has not been a problem at this location until this owner took possession and removed the dumpster.

This house is constantly overflowing with litter and trash. The occupant is apparently a horder, with stuff, mainly used electronics, stuffing into the screened porch and into an abandoned car. He is also something of a recluse, so it's hard to contact him.
