Just a suggestion for the next time any work is planned for Grant Street: At the intersections with both 8th and 9th streets, there are some storm sewer grates alongside the road that are too accessible, in that their design is completely open, with only a single metal bar across the openings. This allows animals and large pieces of trash to flow into the storm sewers. All the other grates in the neighborhood are more enclosed and safer. Might be good to switch these old ones out with ones that are similar to all the others and safer. Even a very small child might be able to fit into a couple of them, because the cross-bar on some of them is bent so much.
A large hole has developed next to a drainage grate in this alleyway and is continuing to deteriorate. This alley b/w Rogers and Madison (North/South) and 3rd/4th (East/West) is frequented by both area residents and employees at adjacent businesses.
There is a crack in the culvert under I-69. It was made by welding a coiled plate of steel into a pipe, but one of the welds is broken/missing. This is causing soil near the broken weld to wash into the pipe. if left unchecked, it could create a cavity around the pipe and sinkhole under I-69. Here is a video: https://youtube.com/shorts/SIJtULk4RQk
There is a round hole in the pavement, next to the grass across from the church at 1701 E Second Street. I am sure this is NOT a utility construction project, but I do not know where else to report it. It is a hazard, though. I suspect a metal cover is missing.
I have reported this multiple times in the past few years and never heard back. Please contact me asap
There is some loose gravel at our intersection where N Dunn meets E Saville. Not a lot but when I mowed my yard, I noticed it just a bit ago.
Workers clean out storm drains and dump the debris on my yard, please ask them to stop
Pipe has burst outside of the building and is spewing sewage everywhere.
On Sheridan Drive between E. Karen and S. Highland, the bike/pedestrian lane on Sheridan has a lot of gravel and sand and junk in it. This is on a downhill in a bike plane and covers most of the lane. Can this get cleaned up and swept off?
