In January 2023, while an optic cable was being installed on our street, the company called Vertical Underground LLC, which we were informed was contracted by the City of Bloomington to do the job, broke our sewer line (along with the lines of many others of our neighbors). We complained to one of Vertical Underground's managers who was working on fixing our neighbor's line, and he informed us that they would fix the problem and that we didn't need to worry. In order to do the repair, they had to break through our concrete driveway to repair the damage and re-pour the damaged section of the driveway. The problem seemed to be fixed for a few months, however, these past weeks, we have been experiencing the same issues that initially led us to the discovery of the damage they caused. That is, our drains are not draining, toilets are not draining and water is returning through the shower drain. We would like to request that CBU send someone to inspect the situation because we believe that the problem was not fixed properly. Thank you.

Hello! I filed this request yesterday but it says it was filed anonymously, so I just wanted to be sure someone could contact me. It smells very strongly of sewage coming from Cascades Creek at 210 E. Gilbert. We are in the process of purchasing this house and property, and we really don't want to smell it every day! The toilet in our half bathroom gurgled, churned, and spewed water for a solid 20 seconds, to where the water came up and out of the toilet and there was a strong smell of sewage. We have had root issues in the past but we saw a turck in the neighborhood and maybe it is a mainline pipe issue? In any case, we'd prefer someone knows that this impacted our house.

Sewer line backing up. Plumber came and snaked it, and then ran a camera. The collapsed pipe is under the street, so it's a city pipe.

Howdy all. A number of residents have reported sewer problems lately in our neighborhood. Could be individual to houses but seems like a pattern. Also a fiber worker was reporting problems in our neighborhood and wondering if it may somehow be related. Any way someone can check on sewer health/status in our neighborhood to make sure there are no issues with public sewer? Thank you!

The manhole cover on the Fairview st. side of this address appears to be leaking some kind of foreign substance that is not water. It may not be serious, but I thought someone should come check it out.

Contractors were working at the front of my yard 2 or 3 weeks ago, and I noticed a sewage smell in my garage around the same time. Unfortunately, the smell has not gone away. Can you confirm whether the city has been in my neighborhood doing work and whether the sewage line in the area has been compromised?
