I called customer service for City of Bloomington utilities. The first lady I spoke with would not take herself off speaker phone dispite the inhibiting amount of feedback. The 2nd lady I spoke with was unhelpful and did her best to transfer my call away without helping me. I would consider both of the reps behavior to be very rude.
Is there still a boil water advisory for 1539 S Maxwell St?
We had a water main break a few feet from this location about 6 months ago. I know a utility worker came out and said there was no issue, but you might want to double check. Seems like a lot of water to just randomly show up.
Hello, I was mowing today and noticed that it looks like there is a hole in my water cover in my yard. I'm not sure if this is an issue or why it is there. Any information or help would be great. Thanks!
After installing the smart water meter CBU nor their contracted service provider left notification on our door that installation had occurred. On Monday of this week, CBU dug around the meter and within hours several water issues were present in our home. Debris in our drinking water (again not notified of work done, w tag on our door) seal blown off our dishwasher pump rendering it useless, and water saturating our carpet in the Living room. All occurring within hours of CBU being around the meter and digging. We have contacted and spoken with both contracted service personnel as well as the meter dept at CBU. We are currently in communication with assistant director. Today a service meter technician came to our property to take pics and "plugged" the smart meter back in to a housing that it had come undone from as per Ken Johnson. Again, we were home, the meter was handled and no courtesy knock or paper notice was put on our door . This is unacceptable as we had just been on the phone with CBU sharing our concerns. CBU Protocol has not been followed, drinking water was not safe guarded for my family, digging around a meter with no courtesy tag left on the door, meters installed with no courtesy tag left on the door including notice to flush the system or # to contact if there were issues, meter equipment not "plugged in" as per Johnson, and water leaks in our home which now require jack hammering into the slab. Looks like beavers have built a dam at the small pond between E Creeks Edge Rd and Creeks Edge Path where it empties into the East Fork Jackson Creek. Pond appears high and creek appears low as a result.
In the location of the pin above, I found where someone had dumped around a gallon of motor oil into the ditch. I used paper towels and toilet paper to clean up most of it, but a little remains. I figured you may want to look and didnt know whether you keep track of these things. Thank you.
On May 4th, 2022 I was taking a walk through the park when I noticed a chemical-type smell lingering near the stream that flows east to west through the middle of the park. When I went to investigate the source of the smell, I was alarmed by an opaque milky white substance contaminating the flowing stream. It also seemed to be the source of the smell. I followed the contamination upstream and traced it to a white PVC pipe that appears to originate from the Bryan Park pool facility. There was also particulate settling in the water where the pipe drains into the stream. Immediately after that I walked to the pool facility and confirmed with two city workers that the pool does indeed drain directly into the park's stream. They also told me that they were directed to power-wash the pool area and the resulting material was discharging directly into the stream via the PVC drainage pipe. Further, other city workers have confirmed with me that the pool water itself gets drained into the stream annually. I am not sure if this is legal - and if it is legal, it is certainly not environmentally sound. The material that is draining into the stream is very likely environmentally harmful.
