There are a few streetlights in Bloomington that need to be fixed. I've had no luck getting Duke Energy to repair them. Since none of these specific streetlights appear on Duke's website maps, I contacted them directly about them. I got a Duke employee to respond a couple of months ago with a text that said, "we will fix them", but as of today they are still not fixed. Maybe the city of Bloomington can contact Duke about them and get them fixed? The streetlights are at the following locations: (1). 2nd St and S Adams St. The only light at this intersection. Very dark at this intersection without the light. (2) On 2nd St, near the intersection of S Patterson Dr. There are two of the green streetlamps that are out. Right next to each other. Directly in front of the store called "Hopes Dispensary". (3) At the intersection of 4th St. and S. Walnut. There are two streetlights at this intersection, but the one that is out is directly over the crosswalk on 4th St. Again, none of these streetlights appear on Duke's maps, and I'm having no luck getting Duke to fix them. Thank you.

Resident, working as a rideshare driver, reports observing traffic at the intersection of E 17th St. and N Eagleson Ave. for approximately 20 minutes. During this time several pedestrian near-misses were observed. Resident believes that Rush Week has created a situation where IU students are frequently crossing the road while distracted with their smartphones (i.e., participating in Rush-related activities). Consequently, students are using sidewalks according to existing paint markings on the road. Although 2 crosswalk curb ramps have been removed recently, paint for those crosswalks is still on the road. The paint is also impeded by mud in parts, which can be difficult for drivers to see. Students are prompting traffic to stop at 4 separate locations along E 17th St. at irregular intervals. Resident is requesting removal of old sidewalk markings and/or posting of a crosswalk closure sign.

The curb on the south side of 2nd street on the southeast corner of the intersection of 2nd and Woodlawn needs to be painted yellow. (all curbs in the intersection should be evaluated.) It was painted yellow prior to the curb and sidewalk work this past summer but the new curb has not been painted. This is particularly problematic when traveling south on woodlawn and turning east on 2nd if there is a car parked on the south side of 2nd street close to the intersection but all curbs in the intersection should be evaluated.

This light was recently installed, and it has caused me to be unable to sleep in my own bedroom despite curtains. My back yard is almost entirely illuminated (see image). I believe this constitutes a light trespass as defined in Bloomington city ordinance section 20.04.090 section (4) and lacks proper shielding as outlined in section (5)(A).

Between 811 and 815 N Jackson, the sidewalk across the alley is . . . gone?? There's just a grassy gap there now. It's surely the city's responsibility to replace it since it across the alley.

The bit of sidewalk across the alley is made of bricks that are at a significantly lower level than the surrounding sidewalk and therefore is a tripping hazard. Because it's in front of an alley, I suppose it's the city's responsibility to upgrade the bit to something safer, like has been done on the opposite side of the street.

Between 925 and 927 W Jackson, there's a sidewalk across the alley that's made of asphalt or something. It's down at a different level from the surrounding sidewalk and is a tripping hazard. Because it's across the alley, it's the city's responsibility to repair.

Trash from behind Kilroy’s continues to be thrown/overflowing outside of the dumpster and into the yard at 318 N College Ave. This has been an ongoing issue, and the trash frequently blows into nearby properties.
We are suspecting this is coming from Kilroy’s Sports Bar due to the amount of black straws and drinks found in the ripped open bags and scattered throughout the alley. (See attached photo)

I would like the street lighting in front of my house to be removed (or at a bare minimum, the light fixture being updated to something that is DarkSky lighting approved where it is ideally motion sensor activated and directionally pointed down and away from my house). It forces us to do substantial light control inside my house when we'd generally like to leave blinds and curtains open to the view of the gold course across the street, it disrupts sleep for some of the members of our household, and this type of light pollution is terrible for wildlife. When we moved into this house in 2022, the light quickly burned out and was not operational for more than 18 months. That was definitely a better situation than the light now that it is illuminated again.
The light pole is 168 135.
