Hello,
I live in Bloom Apartments, which is owned by Hunter Bloomington Property Group. Last week, I received this letter announcing a bark park, along with the image at the bottom. I found out that the property group only installed a gate to block vehicles and one on the sidewalk for pedestrians, but have no other enclosures surroudning. I think this is misleading to call it a bark park, when every instance of a bark park or dog park I can find means it has an fenced-in area for dogs to roam. The way they worded this along with the image of the entrance gate makes it seem like it's enclosed. When I called, the representative didn't seem interested or concerned, even when I asked if they could sent a follow-up email clarifying how the space isn't enclosed.
My main worry is that dog owners may not know the bark park isn't enclosed, and could lose a dog or have it hit by a vehicle being so close to main roads.
Thank you,
Vincent Holloway

Fire hydrants in the RoseWood at Hyde Park neighborhood need to be repainted. The neighborhood is inside Hyde Park and includes three streets in Bloomington: S. Atlee St, E Bricklin Ct, and E Wyndam Ct.

Accessibility issue on E. 6th Street sidewalks, behind the public library. Where the library's driveways cross the sidewalk, the wheelchair areas are very narrow and uneven. Is this something the city will replace, or is it up to the library?

Anthony’s Pets in the Bloomington Mall is abusive to its animals and not safe.

This innocent fella was at a local pet store also known as Anthony’s pets.. While I was there I noticed the puppy couldn’t notice any hand gestures and literally barely moved.. Ehen he was awake you could definitely tell by looking in his eyes he was blind.. (I have an Aussie and know my fair share of info on the breed) anyways.. when telling him he argued and told me 1,600 for the puppy.. I a college kid do not have that so I had to leave the puppy.. I believe that knowing this condition and denying it when asking about it is unfair and not right.. In my opinion this place needs shut down because of this and other previous issues within the store.. The dogs are NOT well taken care of and that’s completely visible to anyone that has common sense.

Shut down Anthony’s pets. A video on Twitter is going viral or a puppy that is very low malnutrition. Every time I’ve gone there the animals seem neglected and not cared for correctly.

Anthony’s Pet Shop in College Mall mistreats their animals, allowing them to live in extremely inadequate cages, puts their animals on unsafe steroids and has a very unsanitary environment for their animals they’re selling. Many animals have been purchased with customers unaware of the animal having parvovirus as well as many other illnesses.

The pets at the bloomington mall is not okay. The fact that they give this animals steroids to “appear happier” should be illegal. These dogs will experience abuse and neglect if we allow this to continue. This should be shut down along with all the other puppy mills who neglect these animals just for profit.
