The entire brand new bike path has been barricaded from Kinser to Arlington. It looks like all that is going on is a single truck with a trailer parker on the path near the skate rink. Seems like a bit of overkill to close the whole path down for residents!
The corner of Moores Pike and Claris currently has flashing Yellow lights to help pedestrians cross Moores Pike. Drivers view yellow lights as a call to speed up not Stop. I walk there frequently but cars seldom slow or stop Sometimes the cars speed up, either to beat the light or to run over me. Perhaps it would help to change the lights to red which means Stop. Or install a regular stop light. Also, at the Southeast corner of Hillside Dr and College Mall Rd. The crossing light turns on when the vehicles turn right from Sare Rd onto Hillside Dr. This is very dangerous for the pedestrian since the corner is not visible to the cars turning right. Gravel in sidewalk and street, Falling hazard.
Debris from past storms, sticks, and gravel inside marked/lines bike lane on both sides of old 37. A street sweeper could remedy.
24/7 No Turn on Red laws certainly have increased pollution and that causes asthma and other heath consequences. I assume this was done for bicycle safety, however, bikers flaunting traffic laws are what have caused the near misses in my experience. Just recently, a few days apart, bikers going west, blew through stop signs which give First street traffic the right of way. Had I not braked hard, each might have been hit.
No crosswalk for kids coming from school there is no school zone signs anywhere and we need a light there for the kids to cross the road
There have been many wonderful improvements with the new Hawthorne Greenway, but there's a glaring absence of a decent pedestrian crosswalk from Weatherstone Ave. walking East or West across Woodlawn two new accessible curb cuts were made on the Weatherstone side of that intersection, but then, there's no crossing support for pedestrians to get into the park from there. I think a lot more kids will be taking that path from Weatherstone or from Hawthorne to cut across the park to get into Templeton Elementary School. A painted, raised crosswalk with signage would be ideal. Is that in the plans?
Students going to TNMS often try to cross here instead of walking to the roundabout where the crosswalks are. Can a crosswalk be placed here?What about the school zone signs with flashing lights that positioned by other schools? Tri-North's school zone signs are still located on 11th street/Blair Ave where the old building was.

Hello- Just wanted to chime in that there are cars consistently blocking the bike lane on Washington between 4th and 3rd Sts (still...). Becoming especially bad (again) with students back. thanks
