There is a fair amount of ice on the trail between 3rd and 4th. I know it may be melted before anyone checks this out, but I wanted to mention it to remind the city that it should comply with its own ordinance. Yesterday I complained about snow on the sidewalk leading to the trail and the overpass on the north side of third. Today the section adjacent to Vectren was fairly clear, and I appreciate that, but not along the closed former motorcycle shop at the corner of 3rd and Madison. I know the city wants to be bicycle and pedestrian friendly, and built the trail to help achieve that goal. But if the trail and the access paths to the trail are not passable, you are falling far short of that goal. The snow stopped ten days ago. Every road has been clear for more than a week, as have parking lots. But the sidewalks still suck. It’s obvious by the city’s actions where its priorities are. Please consider raising the fines for snow removal violations, and sharing the fees with the people who report the violations. . Thank you.

Thank you for clearing the path within Reverend Butler Park and most of the sidewalks around the park quickly after the snowfall earlier this month. Please finish the job by clearing the snow from the sidewalk on Fairview Street in the northeast corner of the park, from where the park path meets the Fairview sidewalk north to 10th Street. Snow and ice still covered this portion of the sidewalk as of this morning, January 17, more than ten days after the end of the snowfall. Please note Bloomington Municipal Code section 6.07.010(a) "It shall be the duty of every owner of any premises abutting a sidewalk in all parts of the city to remove, or cause to be removed, all snow and ice from the sidewalk to allow safe and reasonable travel on said sidewalk within twenty-four hours after snow or ice has ceased to fall or in any way accumulate."

The trails in Bryan Park were not fully cleared of snow or salted after the major snow storm that happened a week ago. This has created hazardous icy conditions after some freeze/thaw cycles which makes walking and running there very difficult. The trails appear to have been plowed initial were but left 1-2" of snow that was never fully cleared and is now thawing partially during the warmer days and turning back to ice on the colder days.

The snow on the B-line crossing the convention center parking lot alley is completely compacted to a sheet of ice. Can this be salted to be safer for bikers and pedestrians?

The walking paths around Bryan Park are sheets of ice. This is a heavily-trafficked area and incredibly dangerous to walk on. One must walk in the road (on busy Woodlawn) to avoid the ice, which is itself dangerous.

The pedestrian paths leading to the pedestrian tunnel under the 45-46 bypass are icy and hazardous. This is the case both westbound and eastbound. I saw another pedestrian fall on the eastbound approach. I was carrying a heavy load of groceries, and I consider myself lucky that I didn't fall. Bloomington, please do better by us.

Many of the B-line crossings (between Allen and 7th St) have major ice buildup. The intersection at Allen St with the trail is a full sheet of ice.

I can understand if doing a good job plowing the path around the Winslow sports complex is not the city’s top priority although it is extremely popular and it could be even more so if people who normally walk neighborhoods could rely on good snow removal here. But it is an essential connector for bike and pedestrian travel and access to the #4 bus. Please at least try to make it safe to get all the way from Rock Creek to Highland. Right now there are many sections that are just ice.
