"Tree-Keeper" database reports 56 Ailanthus altissima ("tree of heaven") trees being maintained by the City. Given this is an invasive plant and is known to be the primary food source for Lycorma delicatula (spotted lanternfly), should the City be obliged to remove these trees that are listed on the State list: ("Prohibited Invasive Terrestrial Plants [312 IAC 18-3-25]", https://ag.purdue.edu/department/entm/iisc/invasive-plants.html) ? If HAND is going to proactively threaten residents by "asking" them to remove something that is not on the State list (e.g., bamboo), it seems profoundly hypocritical for them to not address a serious ecological issue that they are helping to advance.

Fire Hazards

206 S Jackson St, Bloomington, IN 47404, USA

Case Date:
5/28/2024

There is a large/full/mature mulberry tree hanging over power lines, utility lines, cable and telephone wires. The tree is specifically at the edge of the alley entering Jackson St from the property address listed above. In storms the branches bounce off the power lines and causes a lot of sparks. Cars are parked very close to this and concern is of fire or tearing down the power lines if a branch were to fall. Recommending a thorough cut back of large branches back to mid alley. Duke came out to trim some small branches, but didn't resolve the problem.

Owner of this home is elderly and impoverished. His only source of heat is burning wood. This tree on city property has branches covering his chimney and we are concerned about the threat of fire. We have reached out to the city forester and the fire dept. Thank you

You all need to do something about the homeless camp north of RCA Park. There are vicious dogs and open fires all the time. You all just going to let them burn down all the wooded areas. Why is this okay? You all know about this and do nothing until someone gets hurt or property and woods are destroyed. This is NEGLIGENCE on the part of the city.
