Parking on Unimproved Surface
903 S Maxwell TER
- Case Date:
- 2/23/2025
Hello There are regularly cars blocking the bike lane on Washington between 4th and 3rd Sts I wonder if there's a way for the city to make it clear to ride share drivers and customers of DaVinci that this is illegal and that they cannot block the bike lane. "Sending people to patrol the area" is definitely not working. Just a thought. Thanks!
Motorcycle parked in the sidewalk.
I and several neighbors have an ongoing problem with a man on our street. He has two large vehicles parked on the street, another vehicle in his driveway and a large truck that has never been moved. Yesterday, he moved this Ford-350 close to my driveway and I cannot get out safely on the street as the truck blocks by view. This truck also blocks my sidewalk so visitors cannot come to my door for a visit. These problems with him have been going on for years and the Ford-350 has not been moved in more than a year. The Excursion is also a truck and it also blocks safety. Both of these vehicles do not have current plates and the man keeps telling the parking officers that he has then in the house and will put them on the vehicles. He has not done so. Finally, several people on our street are anger and resentful because the city has yet to force him to make needed changes so that all of us can be safe. Please help us have a better life on Eastside Drive. Thank you. The Rev. Linda C. Johnson
Blocking sidewalk repeatedly
Vehicles repeatedly parked in front yard instead of driveway.
There is no category for my issue, so I chose miscellaneous. Parking complaint. Mechanically inoperable vehicle without license plate has been sitting on the driveway at 717 S Eastside Drive for at least a year. Grey sedan, 4-doors, parked next to the garage door. Because this vehicle takes up a parking space on the driveway, one other tenant has to park in front of the house. That often means they are right across from our driveway. Sometimes we hardly can get out.

Last night I tried for an hour to upload the required documents for a residential parking permit for my son’s car. The system rejects both pdfs and jpegs repeatedly. Today, I came to city hall to get the permit in person, and I was redirected to parking services on south walnut. When I arrived — at 12:45p — only one person appeared to be in the office, and she was unable to process the request and give me a residential parking permit. She indicated that the “person who could handle it,” was at lunch and would return at 1:30p. Like many, I presume, I used my own lunch hour to make an in-person visit to obtain a required residential parking permit. Staffing choices and, essentially, an office closure during a Bloomington resident’s traditional lunch hour seems inefficient and ineffective. I am standing in the parking office awaiting the return of, seemingly, the one person who can process my permit request.
