Car parked, blocking sidewalk
Car parked, blocking sidewalk
This truck has been here, seemingly abandoned, for over 2 weeks. The front-left suspension is broken. There is debris and leaking oil underneath the truck. It is facing the wrong direction for the side of the street it is on. It's a fair distance from the sidewalk, somewhat obstructing the street. It is partially blocking a driveway. The vehicle was issued a ticket last week. I'm including a photo of the license plate for identification purposes.
Same abandoned vehicle as report 182749. Truck has now been in place, broken down, for over 3 weeks. Truck continues to leak oil in place. Still partially blocking drivewave. Someone has removed the three citations the vehicle had received. Vehicle was said to be "towed within 3 days" on 2/7/2023.
There are three cars parked on Walnut near the corner of 17 and Walnut. They seemed to have been parked there overnight. Isn't there some ordinance to prevent someone from parking in the street? This is not designated as a parking area. Can't they be towed?
Caller reported 2 vehicles parked in grass at 700 N. Washington St.
Caller stated there is a Jeep parked in the lawn at 700 N Washington St.
Not sure if this is against the rules or not, but it should be. There's a Ducatti motorbike that is almost always parked in the front yard of this house.
Parking meters in this parking lot are not working, i.e., you cannot pay fees using parking meters. A lot of people leave their cars without paying because they see that the meters are defective. Then, it becomes, a classic scam: meters do not work - people have no way to pay - people leave their cars and get a ticket - appeal gets rejected and people have to pay fees. There is a difference between people not paying parking fees and people not being able to pay because the parking equipment was faulty, see the scam scheme above.
Resident called in to report a silver GMC SUV blocking the stop sign at this intersection. Claims this has happened several times, making it difficult for drivers on Wylie St to see the sign.
