Is there any chance that the City would beautify (i.e. remove the rusty fence, cut the weeds, and mow nicely) the property on Monroe St near Tri-North where the water tank used to be?
The City of Bloomington government has done a horrific job with the B-Line Trail detour due to the trail closure in Switchyard Park. But, the City of Bloomington government has a history of doing a horrific job with all things traffic, roads, and detour related, so I guess in the end: who is surprised? The detour was announced on October 23rd via the Office of the Mayor's Facebook page stating it would last for about 2 weeks. Local news sources reported on that fact as well. Now, 22 days later the trail is still closed. I had to call Parks & Rec to ask, because no updates are available online. I called because I need to get into town but the detour path is not safe. Last time I rode the detour it had a lot of gravel, sand, overgrowth, and other hazards. I do not understand why the City cannot at the least keep people updated on the closure when it goes beyond the stated 2 weeks from the Mayor's office. And, maybe going a step further, clean up the detour path? I know, I know - maintaining a multi-use path would be a lot to ask in this town.
I witnessed a man getting sucker punched in front of blue bird nightclub shortly before 12;30am on June 22. Officer 67 arrived within a few minutes and placed handcuffs on the man who was sucker punched. I immediately told officer 67 that I saw the perpetrator walk down the alley, but officer 67 told me to get back and would not listen to me... while I was watching the perpetrator walk down the alley. Other witnesses were also telling officer 67 the perpetrator was getting away. Officer 67 acted emotionally in arresting the victim. It was wrong. I could identify the perpetrator. Rockport between 37 and Country Club has become very hazardous during the detour. Tapp Rd construction has taken far too long for the size of the project. Its not a long section of road. why hasn't this project been finished and reopened? If there's a valid problem, city or county should monitor the traffic.
citizen querried in re plans for improvement for three locations: rodgers rd between sare and snoody, olcott in hyde park, and generally potholes throughout the city. said they were "aweful".
Citizen objects that Utilities will only repave area torn up for water main installation. Says the work has damaged the whole street and it needs repaving. Says the front of her property has been damaged by storage & removal of gravel, etc. Wants her lawn repaired. Has spoken with Doug Jones who said Mike Farmer would call her. Has also spoken with Dana at Street.
Where the new water line is going in on Arlington/17th there is cut actoss the road at the 46 bridge. It has been pretty deep to drive across but today on my way home the west bound lane has ~6inch drop towards the shoulder. Even slowing down I was afraid I damaged my car because you cant see the drop until you have already drove across it. Im in a bigger vechicle and it was a huge jar...
New Island in the middle of Tapp road just east of Kegg is not marked with any traffic cones or signs, hazardous, difficult to see
The manhole cover for the sewer on W 7th Street close to Elm is not secured. I stepped on it and it moved under me and I almost fell in the hole.
