17th St. between roundabout & I69

Excessive speeding (meaning more than 5 mph over the posted speed limits) continues on 17th St. This includes very large trucks (semis, construction trucks, etc.) and even some MCCS busses. Some vehicles go way over the speed limit. Suggestions for improving this situation? Even adding just one more mph sign each on both sides of the road might help (at least help those drivers who tend to drive more or less at posted limits).

Hello, I am wondering if there is anything the city can do to slow traffic heading west on Rogers toward High Street. There are pedestrian crossing signs and a flashing yellow light near the traffic circle at High Street, but this doesn't stop drivers from flying down the hill at dangerous speeds, and it's difficult for them to see people waiting to cross near the traffic circle. At least there is a crossing guard here in the morning and the afternoon during the school months. My major concern is that many drivers don't stop or even slow down for the pedestrian crossing at Rogers/The Stands Dr., and many people travel at 40+ mph here. My kids (and many others) walk and bike here all the time and I constantly worry about them because of the speeds at which people drive. Speed humps or rumble strips might help here. I would really appreciate it if the city would investigate and come up with a solution (and I'm sure many others would as well). Thank you.

Can we please get some traffic calming measures added to sheffield drive between Morningside and Park Ridge Rd? With the added morningside calming measures Sheffield has become a drag strip for individuals to get to the back of the neighborhood. Children at play signs, etc. are not helping. Any chance for enhanced enforcment and ticket citations?

I would like to suggest that 2 speed bumps be installed on S Jackson St between 3rd St and 4th St. Drivers use this route as a shortcut when traveling east-west on W Kirkwood and W 3rd. They avoid the light at Kirkwood and Rogers to save time by driving fast on S Jackson St. The drivers usually speed along S Jackson St, making for a dangerous situation. At least, a study of traffic patterns on S Jackson should be conducted.

Hello, I am the crossing guard for this spot outside of Child’s Elementary school. I have been having issues with people driving dangerously. I am worried about someone being hurt - including myself. People have yelled at me, given me hand gestures, and I have had people purposefully drive quickly towards me to only stop last second before hitting me. I am not the only one who has complaints about this. Nearly all the parents who walk their children through have this complaint and I can get their input too if necessary. I believe a speed radar sign or type of speed bump could help. This road is dangerous and I believe it is only a matter of time before there is an accident.

The city has a long history of not clearing snow, ice, and other debris from the parts of the bike lane on 3rd street that go between the sidewalk and the raised bus stop platforms. The new barriers designed to prevent car drivers from using the bike lane to drop off passengers seem to be compounding the issue, making it impossible for ordinary snow plows to clear the bike lane. Does the city have any plan at all for cleaning the bike lanes with these barriers in place?
The job that was done of plowing the bike lane on 3rd between High and Eagleson was not stellar - there are many places where ice extends more than halfway into the bike lane from the curb, increasing the risk of someone slipping on the ice and falling into the path of an unsuspecting car. But we can be thankful that some attempt was made. The bike lane between Eagleson and Henderson is not only useless for bicyclists, but it is now a much greater impediment to pedestrians crossing 3rd than it was prior to the installation of the barriers.
