We recently moved to Bloomington and chose specifically to live within walking distance to our daughter's school, we're within a mile. Unfortunately, there's no viable route to her school b/c there are no sidewalks adjacent to University Elementary on 10th street. This is a significant issue for the surrounding community. We're new so I don't have all the numbers but there are at least 10 students at University in our neighborhood alone and based it's a safe assumption that the neighboring neighborhoods have a large number of students who are not currently provided with a safe alternative. For a city with a great walkable/bikable reputation I would expect this to be a high priority for our city. This is also a common route for cyclists (recreational and competitive) and seems like it would have already been addressed. Please advise.

As a rep of the HOA I spoke with owner at 3873 Laurel regarding the truck and trailer parked in the street and the complaints I have received. I suggested that he park the vehicle elsewhere so as not to block the street. He indicated in was OK with the city, he pays assoc. fees, etc. I believe this is likely in violation of 15.32.060. I'm attaching two pictures including one from this afternoon. Thank you for your attention and two visits to the area. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. (apparently I can only send one at a time.)

Zayo put in a post at the corner of Brownridge and Fieldcrest. A new light was supposed to be on the post. However no light is now available at the corner, neither is working.

Mayo has installed a new post ( pole ) on my property at the corner of Brownridge and Fieldcrest in Hoosier acres. They did extensive digging around the area and were supposed to reseed, since I had my lawn completely reseeded this last fall. This has not been done and there is a muddy mess at the corner. Moreover holes were made at various places on the lawn and these were never filled in. This is a hazard in mowing or just walking on the lawn. If someone catches there foot in the hole it could result in a broken leg or twisted ankle. Mayo or the city would then be responsible. There are little flags all over the lawn, which needs to be mowed. Should I just remove these ?. Is the work completed ? On the pole there is a street lamp to replace the one currently at the corner, but neither is working, which is another hazard. The ditch in the area has also collapsed. large account of sand and gravel in the road here. this is a recurring problem for bikes. the city needs to address the erosion and gutter problem that is the cause.
