The stormwater drainage ditch (also known as "Sheridan Creek") near the intersection of Sheridan and Karen continues to erode with chunks of asphalt going into stormwater drains. This was looked at a couple of years ago with a decision of "careful watching." It seems like it is now time to re-pave the culvert or put in a drainage pipe, consistent with what is at both ends of this ditch.
On Friday, July 12, a crew from JE Reedy pushed through my double locked gate to clear a path so they could install fiber overhead (in a neighborhood that already has fiber). They seriously cut at least 3 trees: 2 are trees that get no taller than 15 feet, and a pine that was near the pole they needed to climb (Duke has cleared this area for years and never had to hack the pine). They said that they came by on Thursday but they did not leave any notice that they would be working in my backyard so they were trespassing. They could have done their work without destroying my fence row but that would have involved creativity and a little effort. I am sickened, angry and sad and want someone in the City to see this mess and come up with a way to make this right. I have several photos but could only upload one.
Currently, the city only has one method for filing noise complaints, which is to call the number listed on the city's website. Having only one reporting method is extremely ineffective, and limiting the reporting method to only verbal communication creates a barrier for accessibility. There are individuals who cannot communicate over the phone - like me. Illness stole my voice years ago, but my hearing was not impacted - I still hear the noise. I just can't report it. Not sure what an adequate fix would be, as it would have to be something that is regularly monitored. The alley to access this property is overgrown and causing damage to cars trying to access this property.
At the S Highland / E 2nd St 4 way intersection I have within one week noticed four vehicles that have not obeyd the STOP signs on E 2nd street going east and west. Maybe the big tree in the north east corner needs to be trimmed a little? Or put up a pre warning sign of an upcoming four way STOP?

Crows roosted October 23-February 16. We are still experiencing flyovers of large flocks
