Sidewalk is half covered by dirt/weeds inhibiting pedestrian access to sidewalk.
homeless people are reported sleeping on the property.
People who are unhoused are leaving their belongings / lots of trash in the alley of our office building. Customers/clients/pedestrians use this alley often.
Using the MyBloomington website, ( https://bloomington.in.gov/mybloomington/ ) It would be helpful to list the historic designation per the SHARD for houses both in and out of historic districts. (i.e. C / Contributing, NC / Non-Contributing, O / Outstanding, etc.) and linked to a page that explains WHAT THAT MEANS in terms of modifications to the outsides of houses, whether or not that structure is in an historic district. Many homeowners come before the Historic Preservation Commission angry and uninformed. Consult with the HPC Program Manager, Noah Sandweiss, on what to put in these blurbs - it changes based on whether the property is in a district, as well which district it is in. Homeless camp trash in a large area. Will the City have the owner clean it up
4-5 homeless camps on B-line
There are homeless encampments steadily increasing in number behind my house and those of my neighbors. There are now several in view of my windows. The amount of trash is staggering, including countless hypodermic needles. Trash is regularly set on fire by the residents of the encampments, producing noxious smoke that smells terrible and is surely not safe to breathe. The city needs to do something about these encampments. Open air drug use within feet of neighborhoods with young children should not be tolerated. I've been a resident of Bloomington for a decade and I'm strongly considering moving out of town due to the city's inability to address this issue. Please do something.
Some calendar entries require logging into a Google account before info about the public meeting can be viewed. It would be helpful to not require logging into a Google account before display of public meeting information in order to ensure greatest levels of accessibility and participation. For example, on the page at https://bloomington.in.gov/boards clicking on the calendar links displayed on the right side of the page for the Feb 9 meeting of the Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee or for the Feb 12 Board of Public Works Session displays a prompt to log into a Google account if the visitor is not already logged into a Google account. In contrast, clicking on the calendar entry for the Feb 7 Common Council Regular Session immediately displays the associated public meeting information, without first requiring a Google login.
illegal campsites on private property
A back tire on my car was completely blown out tonight driving down High Street between Maxwell & Covenanter. The pot holes along that stretch are REDICULOUS!!! They were all filled with water due to rain so I couldn't see them and I almost lost control of my vehicle when my tire went into a deep one. My car was forced onto the sidewalk. I could have hit someone walking there! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE TO REPAIR THAT STREET!! It will cost me over $800 to get my car towed and new tire + installation. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!
