Business

Bloomington City Hall

Case Date:

Where are you supposed to call or message on mask violations? HFI staffers are within a foot or so of each other talking outside without masks. Also a gas station tonight with kids but I don't know if kids are exempt - teens, but still kids.

Traffic Suggestions

3613 E Park LN

Case Date:
7/28/2020

I have speeding cars using my street (East Park Lane) as a shortcut from/to Smith Rd to 3rd St/Pete Ellis. This will only get worse when the new IU hospital opens. We have new families with children walking and biking this street. There isn't a sidewalk and this isn't about the amount of traffic. It is a road psychology issue. An example: delivery and lawn-care trucks w/trailers use out street to avoid the speedbumps on Morningside and Longview. Thank you for your attention.

Hello - Will someone with the City provide some details on the constant sound of heavy machinery on the south side of Bloomington? This has been going on for a while and I am unable to determine the exact source. I think it might be coming from two places, both of which appear to have connections to the City of Bloomington. The first location is to the west of the police and fire training center on S. Walnut. On many days, such as right now (for the past 30+ minutes at least), there are periods of time where there is a continuous noise from some sort of construction equipment, a diesel engine. I do not know the exact nature of what it is doing, but I cannot spend time on my deck as it is quite loud out there and when I am inside my house I can hear the noise as well. And it is more than just noise, it seems to have a deeper feel to it than simple noise by the nature of the equipment and work being done. The second location of interest is accessed from W. Gordon Pike. This area is north of Gordon Pike, between Rogers and Walnut. The entrance has a stone wall on either side of the driveway. I have observed dump trucks marked with the City of Bloomington logo going in and out of there. That site produces loud banging noises periodically, like the sound of dump trucks dumping something or being loaded. This all started in earnest within the last 6-8 months it seems like, although there have been less consistent bouts of such noises before that time frame. I would like to know if these are City operations, what exactly is going on, and how much longer these operations will continue. The use and enjoyment of my property is being greatly diminished by the noise and in a pandemic where I am home most of the day, that is incredibly frustrating.
