I just returned home from downtown Bloomington. Not one single sidewalk leading to a crosswalk has been shoveled. I found it quite dangerous to walk through the snow and ice to cross the street. I am required by law to clear my sidewalks within 24 hours after the end of a snow storm and do so religiously. Yet here it is three days after the end of the last storm and no effort has been made to clear the crosswalk sidewalks. Why must I obey the law if our own city government and mayor are aloud to violate this law. This is inexcusable not to mention discriminatory. Shame on Mayor Hamilton and his government.
Law Abiding Citizen,

The sidewalk surrounding Taco Bell on the corner of 7th and Walnut is impassable. It is a lethal hazard. Can you ask them to clear it? Walk it yourself to see.
Thank you

111? E. Kirkwood: Some sort of restaurant runoff (floor cleaning water?) is dumped from behind Opi Taylor's/Malibu. This goes on year round, but creates a sheet of ice in the winter (as it is today). The water runs/ices in front of an empty lot, so no one deals with the sidewalk. It's approx. 111? E. Kirkwood, just past the alley behind Book Corner, just at the start of the parking lot next to CVS.
I originally reported this in 2017, I guess before it was cold. ureport#161324 and I was told it was runoff from an AC unit, which I think we can be sure is not the case in today's weather.
I'm a daily walker from the near westside to campus. This is an ongoing problem. I really would like someone to just take some responsibility for either the initial liquid or the ice that results.
Thank you :)

Hello,
I'm attempting to get this resolved before it becomes a hard frozen hazard as it has in year's past. This is the sidewalk next to Taco Bell at 7th & Walnut. It is also the only way I can get to One City Centre from the Walnut Street Garage. I don't understand how they get a "pass" on sidewalk cleanup, yet CFC is very prompt about clearing the walk way (see clear sidewalk on horizon of attached photo). It becomes impassable in very cold temps. Please ask them to clear this hazard. You may reach me at Karen Boehnlein 812-360-6467 Karen@wgclradio.com
Thank you

I'm an IU Bloomington student who walks to the stadium everyday to take the IU buses to class. There are no sidewalks on my walk from Brownstone Terrace to the stadium which forces me to walk on the side of the road, where student drivers who don't pay attention swerve around me at the last second. Additionally when the weather is bad, I'm even forced to walk in the road, putting myself at risk to get hit by a car. I'm also proposing more off campus lighting & would love to meet with someone about these issues to come up with an effective plan. It's unsafe walking home from a late night class or to an early morning class & not being able to see your surroundings. Some of the city lights don't even work. If more light poles were installed, it would reduce the off campus crime rate. The city of Bloomington, not IU, is reponsible to address these issues because it's there property.

West side of 500 block of S. Washington. Sidewalk cracked, broken, and heaved up by tree growth. Does the city claim sidewalk repair is the responsibility of adjacent property owner? What about the goal of walkability?
