I have previously submitted uReport on this. Definitely appears to be a sinkhole. Much deeper and cone can fully sit inside. The road under appears caving in. I have more pictures if needed. I can only attach one.
There is constantly homeless individuals and their belongings, sleeping and blocking this sidewalk. Just today there were five different individuals
I would like to suggest that 2 speed bumps be installed on S Jackson St between 3rd St and 4th St. Drivers use this route as a shortcut when traveling east-west on W Kirkwood and W 3rd. They avoid the light at Kirkwood and Rogers to save time by driving fast on S Jackson St. The drivers usually speed along S Jackson St, making for a dangerous situation. At least, a study of traffic patterns on S Jackson should be conducted.
Picture is on property of 206 s Fairview and looking east. Huge hole. Unclear if sinkhole as area of old quarry or if recent digging for fiber optic contributing. Hole is about 1 ft across and about 2 foot wide. It caverns under the road slightly and appears to go deeper under the property on 206. Since there is no side walk, people often walk on the grass in that exact area. I walk this way often and first time seeing it this evening.
The board material that has been placed in front of the Princess Theatre during construction is warping and unsafe. An individual just fell all the way to the ground from tripping on the uneven surface at 1:45pm. The material also appears as if it would be very slick when wet. Very unsafe.
Dear Government, I have been living here for about 13 years, and in this time it has become clear to me that there is a problem at the intersection between Rusgan Drive and Ramble Road West. You see this intersection has been my bus stop for years, and whether it's the dark of morning when I leave or daylight when I get back people speed right by as if there were no speed limit. This is only made worse by the fact that the intersection is half blind because it lies at the bottom of a small hill. So for the well being of myself and the children of the neighborhood I am requesting that this intersection be changed to a three way stop. I believe this would force the people of the neighborhood to drive at a more reasonable speed and therefore make my street much safer. I believe my neighbor across the street, the father of a small child, previously wrote the city requesting the same thing. I myself am just a teenager. So you know that once the problem has reached the point where a teenager takes time where they could have been doing nothing to write the city about traffic regulation, it's probably not just nothing. And considering others have written about this in the past, I frankly find it foolish to wait until someone actually gets hurt to take action. Thank you for your time and consideration, P.S. A storm caused a power line to break. We did not lose power, but there was much sparking. We reported to Duke. They sent someone out to fix the line. They had to chop the top half of a tree down to reach the line with a cherry picker. They through all the debris in our backyard. In calling around, to remove this tree debris will cost $400-$650. We do not have the funds for this. If we hadn't called, we would not have incurred this cost. I called Duke to investigate this very tree months back, as it seemed to be leaning on wires. The technician said there was no problem with the tree. Not several months later, the line is hit, and we have to pay money to remove the debris
Hello during recycle pick up today i witnessed the people look at our can, that was completely shut and not overflowing, and take a piece out to make it look like it was and not pick it up. This is unacceptable as they took everyone else’s as well that was overflowing even though ours was not. They have done this in the past as well and I have put in requests for then as well. Thanks
Since High Street was paved and re-lined, the left signal at the Hillside/Moore's Pike intersection for the southbound lane is not tripped when a car is there.
Hi there, I wasn't sure what section to file this complaint under, since it is related to a loud construction project that has been ongoing on High street for several weeks. There was no major issue up until today, August 6. It is now almost 10:30 PM and the construction has not finished for the night. There is a loud machine (a pump, maybe?) that has continually run since about 8:30 pm and is showing no sign of stopping. We have small kids who are sensitive to noise, and we live right next to the construction. I understand the workers have to complete their task, but to go this late at night seems disruptive to folks in the area. Thanks.
