I apologize if you receive this twice. I'm not sure my first attempt was sent. The pavement in front of my driveway is beginning to break up. It needs a small amount of patching to keep it from getting any bigger.
I reported a potential sinkhole in the street in front of my property in August 2016. The hole opening into the what I believe will become a sinkhole was immediately patched. Now, new construction has just begun on adjacent lot 3880. concrete trucks making deliveries to that site have now created a ten foot long , 2 foot wide, 2 inch deep indentation in the pavement directly above where I suspect a sinkhole. The pavement is permanently damaged and parts have broken up. I realize that making repairs while construction is in progress is probably not practical, but I wanted to immediately make the city aware of the damage. I don't know if this is something the builder will be expected to take of or if is the city. Regardless of whether its the city or the city makes the builder take care of it, I would appreciate the city giving me the assurance that the damage will be repaired as soon as practical. Thank You! uReport City of Bloomington, Indiana – John Hamilton, Mayor Login Cases Locations Report a problem closed: Resolved #158569 Regarding this case number. Did not know how else to respond. hope this works.
There are three potholes along East Varsity Lane. I have marked the first one and the next two are towards the mail box.
I would like to understand what behavior would indicate that a streetlight is starting to fail. The streetlight at this location is sometimes working properly (i.e., full brightness) when it's dark, off when it's light/bright during the day, and then there are times where the light is only at ~25% brightness, or it goes completely dark during the night time ... which, to me, defeats the purpose of having the streetlight in the first place. I'm not sure if that's considered normal operation or if that means it's starting to have problems. The neighbors whose homes are in front of this streetlight are worried whether it's working properly. More important, they are concerned and don't feel safe when they go out at night and the streetlight is "off". I don't know if this indicates a problem, so wanted to ask to have it looked into, as appropriate. Thanks, Rob Aney robaney@yahoo.com
There is damaged pavement in the street that is creating issues for older homeowners when trying to navigate across the street for daily activities (such as getting mail, etc.).
Recently, I reported some damage to the E. Regents Circle street, which the City immediately fixed. The repair work was OUTSTANDING, by the way! The promptness and quality of the repair work was spot-on ... many thanks to the City! However, after a few months we've noticed that the asphalt used for the repair appears to now be "separating" from the original pavement of the East edge of street (see attached photo). Our concern is that as winter approaches, there will be opportunities for water/snow/ice to accumulate, freeze, and actually cause *more* damage to the original repair work. Can we please request to have the City come check out this repair work to see if it needs additional work? Thank you so much in advance! - Rob Aney robaney@yahoo.com
I’ve a question/concern about the coconut ingredient in the treatment mentioned in this article: https://fox59.com/indiana-news/bloomington-adds-cocunut-powder-to-drinking-water-after-taste-odor-complaints/. My sister is severely allergic to tree nuts, which includes coconut. She will be visiting during the holidays and I’m concerned about her using our water while here. Is there information you can provide about how much is in the water? Should we be safe and use bottled water? Thank you for your time and any information you can provide. Carolyn Blank
