The drainage ditch leading into a sewer grate behind our house is outgrown and filled with debris that is blocking the sewer grate. It is typically cleaned out by the city at least once a year but no one has come for more than 12 months.
This is in reference to a prior case submission (#913401) - the prior service request was closed and listed as the property owner's responsibility but the case history for the location shows that in 2014 the same issue was submitted by my former neighbor and the city did resolve the issue with the storm drain being blocked. 9/10/2024 10:05:29 Closed by Emily Tate According to CBU records, the ditch at this location is private property, so maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner, or in some cases a neighborhood group/HOA. There is a dead animal on S Smith between the stop sign at Morningside and the Northbound bus stop. It has been there for a week, and is stinking. Kindly remove it.
The pavement on Washington Street behind the recently completed Chocolate Moose Building is in really bad shape. It is kind of filled in but not level with old pavement and has lots of gashes in it. The bike lane there is especially bad. The new pavement south of 2nd street is great, especially where the cars are on the left side.
404 W Kirkwood Ave, in back of house where parking is - trash all over and growing since last week. This co-op has had issues before with grass growing long, furniture on roof top etc. Now there is trash, broken furniture, plastic and clothing and trash strewn around the back side of the residence. It is an eyesore.
The alleys between Madison and Rogers/Kirkwood and 6th Street are torn up again. Graffiti on the building for Car Quest which is seen from this alley already and they just painted it. Thank you!
The Johnson Creamery flooded again. I am a tenant in the building and after talking with the management company of the building, they indicated that the reason why the building floods regularly now is because of the way the drainage is designed. We walked around the back of the building (north side) and saw drainage that clearly can not handle the amount of run off coming from between 8th and 11th st buildings and parking lots. I'd like to request the city evaluate the options so this can be fixed. This building now floods several times a year, ruins furniture, initiates insurance claims, and disrupts business operations like mine. I will be unable to meet with clients and perform my job for several weeks while the building is cleaned out again.
Yard is severely overgrown. House looks abandoned.
Property is a jungle. Can anything be done to force the owner to do some trimming?
