Bird bicycle abandoned and partially blocking sidewalk
Bird bicycle abandoned and partially blocking sidewalk
Bird bicycle still blocking sidewalk 24 hours later. Reported to bird but no one has yet retrieved the bike
Submitted on behalf of Casey Guarino. On August 8, 2024, around 12:30 PM, both sides of S. Rogers St. were obstructed and impassible for wheelchair users around 714 S. Rogers. One sidewalk had no curb cut access due to construction. The other sidewalk, at 715 S. Rogers, was blocked by a temporary sign. Casey requested that a construction worker in the area move the temporary sign so that she could pass. The worker refused, saying "People who can walk can get around." When a passerby picked up the sign, the worker said "You can't do that." The passerby briefly moved the sign regardless, and Casey was able to reach her destination. However, both sidewalks remain obstructed, which is a major accessibility problem.
There's a tree being pulled down onto an occupied ADU by some vines. There's a power line running between as well.
There's a large rock on the west side of the street creating an obstacle in the road and hindering the flow of traffic. This is located on S Fess Ave, between E University Street and E First Street, outside of the house 714 S Fess Ave. Please tend to this issue before an accident happens.
With the recent crime in the neighborhood, it would be nice to see regular police patrols in the evenings.
There is a large pile of trash dumped behind the High Point Commercial property on North Walnut Street. This trash is blowing into the backyards of neighboring properties on Washington Street.

There is trash being dumped behind the High Point Commercial Building at 702 North Walnut. There is no longer a dumpster back there, so the trash is just piling up in the parking lot. This is practically in my back yard, and I would prefer not to live next to open air dump. Can HAND please get the property owner to clean this up, and keep it clean?
Residential properties behind the High Point commercial property at 702 N Walnut have been having constant issues with poison ivy all summer, as well as last summer. It is constantly spreading into our backyards from the High Point property. I've reported this issue to HAND several times this summer, yet the property has still not been cleaned up (or it is cleaned up once, and then promptly ignored again.) At what point can this go to the Board of Public Works for abatement?
