Hello. I am Alli Johnson. I will be graduating college at the end of the Fall 2017 term. I am not sure what I want to do with my future. I know that recently I have become extremely interested in sustainable community development. Creating community that is built with sustainable practices in mind. I was wondering if there would be anyone in the local government of Bloomington, IN that would allow me to shadow them to learn more about their job or possibly an internship. We moved into a new house in Hidden Meadow in May of this year, and after 6 months we still do not have a street sign. Our address is 5274 N Filbert Drive, Bloomington, 47404, our street name is N Filbert Dr. This is a safety and liability concern, if emergency vehicles – fire, ambulance, or police had to find one of the houses on our street, they would be unable to, especially since our street still doesn’t show up on Google maps. The thought of something bad happening to a member my family or to me and knowing that help might not find us is very unsettling. We’ve waited for 6 months and still no sign. I'm not sure who to contact, and whether it is the city, the planning department, or the developer who is responsible for street signs, but I'm hoping you can help me figure out who I can contact - if it isn't your office. Huge dead tree dropping major branches on street and cars at 801 S Peach Tree. Owner says city responsible. Called Street Dept 3 weeks ago--they said call Lee Huss. Left message, no response. Problem is worse and tired of clearing street to drive on it!! Please respond-----
