Main streets in Bloomington and Normal were plowed and very passable yesterday. However, Chestnut, Allin and Mason streets did not fare the same. I left the facility at 6:00 pm last night and at that time the streets still appeared as if not plowed. In order to get from the lot to the building, staff and patients have to Cross Chestnut. This morning when I came in at 7:30 am, the road conditions were not much better. Although the road did appear to be plowed, we had little mountains to cross at driveway and sidewalk intersections. Since we are a 24 hour facility and have a pretty decent volume of patients (from pediatrics to geriatrics as well as some mobility assistance devices) and staff using this facility, we were wondering if there is a conversation to be had with the city.

There are multiple cars parking in spaces that are in yellow, in front of fire hydrants, and in front of and blocking driveways. Please ticket cars on Smith inbetween Grant and Lincoln. It has never really been supervised but is particularly out of hand right now. I could barely see my driveway let alone access it because there was a car almost in front of it and then when looking at my neighbors driveway, realized that a car was parked completely in front of it. Also a car has been parked in front of a fire hydrant at the corner of grant and smith for the whole weekend.

My daughters basketball team was in town the 7th thru the 9th and stayed at the Americas Best Inn on Walnut. Sad to say that in one of the rooms we had a bed bug on one of the girls while she was laying in bed. Room 215. The manager/owner insisted it wasn't a bed bug blah, blah, blah, but we feel confident that it was. Another team staying their reported to us that they also had bed bugs, but I do not know if they contacted the hotel or not nor do I know the room number. I just wanted to pass this on. Hopefully you can send someone in to inspect further before it becomes a bigger issue.

While dining at Mother Bears on 7th St on 2/8, one of our players parked next door where they shouldn't have. Her car was towed to carls on 3170 Walnut. Although our young lady was guilty for parking in the wrong location, my complaint is that this business is charging $140 for the towing of a vehicle a few miles and charging $140 and ONLY WILL ACCEPT CASH. Doesn't seem too legit to me. Wonder where and if that cash is being reported??? This gives the town of Bloomington a big black eye.

Yes, this is a sidewalk. It was beautifully shoveled on Thursday, but the snow plow came by and plowed it under again. Don't give 704 and 7014 S Eastside Drive a ticket, because we have done our duty and our sidewalks were clean.

500 S. Rogers St. on the Southwest corner of Howe and Rogers has no cleared their sidewalk.
