For the last several weeks this hold in the ground has been open, with an abandoned shovel and hazard tape surrounding it. I don't think this is the responsibility of the homeowner, because this was left this way by the work crew that was installing fiber optic cable. It is on the block just south of the intersection with Atwater.

Not sure if this is the right department, but wanted to ask a question about priorities related to sidewalks and streets. I live on Goldin Ct on the east side. Last spring and now this spring, the city is ripping up the sidewalks and repaving them. Hard to argue with that need, but I walk them daily. In my estimation, they were not too bad at all. They do get travel, but not nearly as much as the streets. Goldin Drive and Goldin court are horrible and have been for the last two years. Pot holes, cracks, uneven road. I'm just confused as to why the there has been a two year priority on the SIDEWALKS, rather than the streets which are well traveled by cars and trucks. I'm going to attempt to attach some photos of my street to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. How do these funds get allocated and do you know when the STREET may get some attention?

The alley next to my house and the ally next to my back fence are both over grown with trees and bushes on PUBLIC PROPERTY. Both alleys have power lines running through the trees and bushes. Last summer, Duke Energy said over the phone that they would cut back and clear out the area. After a few months, thy called back and said they would not cut back the area. I would like to have Duke Energy take care of this. Because of the power lines, they are the only ones who CAN clear it. Thank you for any help you can be. Chris Alford.

Right across the street from our house a pine tree is leaning to a very extreme angle and leans more every day. this is in danger of falling on a person or house. Will the city please take this tree down?

Several concerns : as you exit 3rd st and make yr way up the 150’ turn onto s muller: 1) there are no sidewalks - after the initial work was done near 3rd st. This is a dangerous walk for the tenants in the housing complex down muller. Students etc have to walk in the road 2) there needs to be a speed bump added across from the fire hydrant and across form Steward Electric. Reports will show several accidents here. Once drivers clear the speed bump coming out from the housing area - it’s light them up time down to 3rd st. 3) severe potholes on the first 150 ft up the hill on muller Pkwg off third. Thanking you in advance for reviewing these requests. Ken P

This is more of a question really. A neighbor has claimed quite a bit of land that is listed as city property, but claims because she mows it, it is hers. It seems the city agrees, because for years they've allowed only her to use the site. Is this true? I have close to half an acre behind my house the city isn't using it maintaining at all. I would really like to expand my current property into that area. I'd hate to put all that work in though before knowing if I would get the same deal with the city my neighbor has.

Since it has opened, the new record store around the corner from Amrit India has featured live music performances of drums and amplified electric guitar music on Friday and Saturday nights on the sidewalk sometimes lasting past midnight. For residential units along Walnut and on 6th Street, the sound is an intrusion that prevents peaceable enjoyment of one's one private premises. Specifically, I can't sleep. It's not just unneighborly, it's a violation of Bloomington's noise ordinance. Perhaps the after hours ambassador or night mayor, or whatever the person is called now, can chat with the owners and suggest some other strategy for attracting customers. Thanks.
