At the bus stop on W 3rd St and S Westplex Ave there are homeless individuals who camp out at the bus stops; they have mattresses, trash, and needles around them. This situation makes it unsafe for other individuals trying to ride the bus as well as causing a disturbance to the neighboring businesses. I've contact the transportation department and filed a uReport but nothing changed.
Apparently the diesel - electric buses enter into a "regeneration" cycle under idle to somehow clean out the soot particulates in the diesel exhaust system. Hot exhaust burns out the soot, right? It stinks all to high hel** and fills the cabin with what smells like CO - filled exhaust. I fear being asphixiated while waiting for the warm bus to begin it's route. I open a couple of windows everytime I board. Is this an exhaust leak, or is pumping hot regenerative soot exhaust gases including CO into the cabin, er.. normal? This smells awful and scares me everytime I ride a bus in these conditions. Please provide proof this is not a danger or remedy this nasty smelling problem.
There is a pole/light at this stop that has metal bands wrapped in two spots for a trash can to be attached. Although the trash can is not attached and sits beside the pole, that is not the problem. Today, one of the metal bands (which sticks out at the end of its seal point) sliced my leg open. Luckily I had a first aid kit, but that is dangerous.

There Thea’s a bus sitting parked along the the west side of College 15th to 16th from approximately 720 to Atleast 730+ This cause a line of site for cars trying to out of 15th because the bus was just sitting. I did not get the bus number but people trying to get on to college could look north to see if the lane was clear to pull out.
The 2 south route is being detoured and there is no information about it on the website or the app. How are people supposed to know that the bus will not arrive at their stop. The storm was three weeks ago, you should have information posted by now. Unacceptable.
Bus 761 route 7 had thick black smoke pouring out its exhaust. I think it needs maintenance
Thank you for moving the bus stop north 100 ft out of the old bus egress places to places closer to real reasonable places nearer the sidewalks.

However, Bloomington Transit reportedly requires that the PCA must pay a fare when accompanying a BT Access customer on a fixed-route bus. This fare policy creates unfortunate accessibility and financial burdens for BT Access customers. Bloomington Transit should revise this policy to go beyond the minimum and allow PCAs to ride for free on fixed route buses. Under Department of Transportation (DOT) Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations at 49 C.F.R. Section 37.131(c)(3), a personal care attendant (PCA) may not be charged a fare for complementary paratransit service. PCAs may be charged a fare on fixed route. While some transit systems go beyond the minimum requirements of the ADA and allow PCAs to ride for free, there is no requirement that they do so.
At the end of the very nice protected bike lane on 3rd Street, buses pull over into the unprotected lane to pick up passengers at this stop, forcing bikers either to stop and wait for the bus again, take their chances on going into traffic and around, or jumping up on the sidewalk. Please ask the buses to either stop in the car lane or extend the protected lane through this bus stop.
