Spring has started and the outdoor smoke coming from the Barbecue is in full force at the Short Stop food-mart on North Smith Road. My wife and I had three meetings with the City Council about this issue in 2015. And 2 recorded meetings with the council as a whole and a second meeting a few weeks later. The smoke issue was to be addressed for this location. But Chris Smith sold the store without implementing the standards the City Council had requested he perform. He was supposed to install and indoor smoker by December of (2015) that never happened. And he then sold the business in spring of 2016. As an example of how bad this smoke is. I hung wet laundry outside yesterday (Wednesday 4-25-18). Hoping for that nice fresh air smell when it was dry. Our clothing smelled like we had been next to a campfire. So I had to rewash all of the clothing. This has become a HUMAN HEALTH hazard and it has not been taken seriously. The city did nothing after our meetings to address SMOKE issues from cooking outdoors. I really hate to call the Fire department each time I smell smoke. As the cost to the city will be ridiculous for putting out (3) outdoor smokers. But that is what I am going to start doing. As we cannot breath. She had a lung removed and everyone is turning a blind eye towards this fact. Let me know what the city can do. Our district representative Allison Chopra was at the meetings as she was running for office and won the election. But I was told she had slept since the meetings and did not remember the restrictions placed on the smoke issue. Lots of smokers at the park and splash pad. No signs saying no smoking. No signs saying smoking in parks is illegal.

2 people in my apartment complex are smoking inside their apartments. It’s coming in through my walls and vents so badly that I’m having asthma attacks. I’ve emailed my property management company who has sent out texts, but the smokers in the building are still smoking indoors.

A tenant of this building reported there is a transient in one of the restrooms on the 6th floor. Caller said he thinks the person is smoking.

Every week I visit on Fridays for free flower Friday and there are always 2 female employees who smoke right outside the entrance. I respect the fact that they have a want for a smoking break, but not right outside the entrance to their own store, where non-smoking employees and customers have to inhale 2nd hand smoke. As well, there is another lady who I have seen vaping inside of the store. This is unacceptable, and I am not the only customer who I have heard complain.

Little Caesars on the east side (2504 E Third St). The employees regularly take their smoking breaks immediately in front of the business entrance. The smoke travels to the outside dining area at McAlisters Deli. I witnessed this on Saturday May 27 and Wednesday May 31, 2017. The business also does not have any smoking signage posted. Just show up during business hours and observe, it won't take long.

Ali Hagenbuckle reported that many people smoke outside two businesses at 115. E 2nd street and they could benefit from signage that tells people about the ordinance and to not smoke in front of the businesses.
