The house next door to ours (currently vacant and for sale) has overgrown trees that are dead and falling down. Two cars have had either broken windows or mirrors, and all cars have sustained scratches from these trees. We are wondering what can be done to take the trees down. My next door neighbor, Carl James, (at 703 W. 7th Street) burns trash and plastic and Styrofoam in his wood stove. The smoke is heavy, black and acrid. It is polluting the air. I think there must be regulations against burning trash like this. We have asked him not to do this and explained to him that it creates toxins in the air. A group of neighbors chipped in and bought him two ricks of wood recently, but his son took most of it and resold it. We do not know what else to do. Can someone from the City talk to him about this? Fire hazard 710 N Morton. Student housing electrical vault rooms cluster, gas cans equipment. Not able to reach main breakers cardboard clutter , all vaults under residents in same condition under housing.
Powerline for lights running along 2700 N Walnut Street is down laying in the bike lane portion of the road. In between Speedway gas station and Furniture Exchange.
Tried to include photo but request hung up. 507 W. Dixie Street has entire yard (front and back) crammed with debris. HAND volunteers tried to clean it up but owner and homeless brought in more faster than they could get rid of it. House is fire hazzard due to being filled with debris and only front door usable. No other exit usable. Rats have been seen on property. Owner is Al Hines who is on psycho drugs for Schitsaphrena. this apears to be situation of Adult Protective Services Thank you
A large piece of garden row cover is stuck to the top of a utility poll on the SW corner of Waldron and 6th.
Low hanging transformer appears to have disconnected from the utility line. Located in the alley between Kirkwood and 6th st, West of Waldron, just behind Rose Hill Farm Stop
Stageyard apartments allows residents to have grills on their small balconies despite this being against Indiana code, and also posing a fire and CO risk to other residents
A couple months ago the fire inspector came and inspected BBs market shared room with us the thrift shop where the sprinkler system and computer that monitors smoke or fire in the building. It has since been filled with all kinds of stuff that you can no longer access that panel if it was to go of.
