I am an employee of Teach and Play ABA owned by Sara Shrivastav and I am aware that she has been told that she needs to put sprinklers and fire alarms in the facility for our safety and the children’s safety, but she has still not done that and as far as I know she has no plans to and is not taking it seriously. We have already had a fire in the building and there was 0 plan in place and was not done up to standard which makes me very concerned for the safety of myself and the children we serve. If you’re able to come as soon as possible I would appreciate that. I am choosing to submit anonymously because I don’t want to risk losing my job for reporting, but it is a safety issue that I believe needs to be addressed immediately. I really appreciate your time and attention. Thank you!
Hello, I work at Teach and Play ABA and it’s owned by Sara Shrivastav. She sent us an email in regards to the fire safety issues that she was made aware of and she hasn’t any intentions of making changes as of right now. I’m concerned because we’ve already had a fire in the facility and it was very poorly handled. I’m worried for the safety of myself, coworkers and children at the facility. She wrote us an email saying we are not allowed to let you in the building and it’s just very concerning to me. She has already opened two more facilities and they also don’t have sprinklers or fire alarms and I ultimately just want to make sure we’re in a safe environment. I’m also not sure if it’s structurally sound. She did a lot of the remodeling by herself so if there’s anyway someone could check that and make sure things are up to standard because she had mercury lightbulbs which caused the first fire, I would really appreciate that. Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns regarding this matter.

We recently moved in, and there is a cable (perhaps carrying power) that is wrapped around the tree in front of our house using a wire hanger. None of the utility companies we've contacted want to take responsibility for it. How do we determine the owner and get it removed?
The venting system that should be connected to the dryer is not properly connected. Therefore, lint has been piling up behind the dryer for approximately a year now, which is a major, major fire hazard. The previous tenets told the landlord about this issue on August 21st, 2020, but this issue wasn't resolved and still has not been resolved. The landlord has been given proper notice that this issue needs to be fixed and it has not been.
Neighborhood residents near the White Oak Cemetery and the Westside Cemetery have been experiencing toxic smoke from the hazardous fires taking place in the encampments between Butler Park and N Adams St. The residents believe that the individuals in this encampment are either burning plastic trash, plastic coating of stripped wire, or potentially cooking meth. Residents have reported this issue previously through a uReport, but the fire hazards were not addressed. To get to the encampment you can enter from the B-line along N. Adams St., next go right at the end of the mesh wire fence (near B-line light post #183), then cross the railroad tracks (heading south), and you will find the well worn trail to the encampment.
This residence have a barrel in front of their 2 car garage and will occasionally burn debris causing smoke. At times, when this occurs, the smell is very unpleasant.
Lots of fireworks in Park Ridge East tonight. Not the first time.
Very strong smell of smoke all over E 10th Street and State Road 45. It is difficult to tell where it is coming from-- no visible flames from my location-- but it seems unlikely that so much smoke could be generated by a fireplace.
