Storm water drain is clogged causing large “pond” of water on the north side of Atwater and potentially a storm runoff problem for property owners that could lead to flooding basements.
We had a massive overflow of the drainage ditch next to our house after tonight's (2/20) storm. There must be some blockage at the end of the drain because water poured out of the ditch and basically covered our half of our backyard. The ditch either needs to be dug deeper and/or it needs to be cleared of debris in order to assure adequate drainage. We have photos for visual evidence but were unable to upload them through this website. Thank you for your attention to the matter.
There is often a fairly substantial amount of water flowing down the street on Wilson St (between Palmer St and Grant St). I'm not sure where it comes from, but it seems out of place.
The picture is at the SW corner of Pickwick and Winfield. The grade of both Pickwick and Winfield cause water to pool at the SW corner every time it rains. The water stands for several days, especially in the corner of our yard. The problem is made worse by the curbs that have been added north of this corner. Someone from the city did come out and look at it and admitted there was a problem several years ago. We have called repeatedly and can't get any action. As we are reminded, this is a health hazard since it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Please help.
Mr Kroener left a voice message yesterday indicating he owns the properties at 1306 and 1308 N Maple and they have a water problem. Runoff from the other development on the west side of the street crosses the street and floods their parking lot. He would like to make an appointment for me to come look at it.
The ditch area, and currently un-mowed area on N Hancock Drive on the west edge of Crestmont Park, is CBU Street Department area. In an effort to reduce carbon footprint by mowing this strip seasonally, to decrease stormwater runoff into the overloaded culvert during rain events and to increase sustainability, native tree growth and pollinator habitat, this area could easily be a no-mow area. There are no overhead power lines at risk of native trees growing tall in this area. In addition, during an Adopt-a-Greenspace site survey it was noted invasive Tree of Heaven is growing in several spots along this strip. The Tree of Heaven MUST be chemically controlled and not mowed or more TOH trees will emerge. Crestmont Park and surrounding Crestmont landowners are engaged in supporting their woodland landscapes. Adding a no-mow strip along N Hancock is in keeping with the surrounding greenspace. I propose this strip be slated as a no-mow area for the above reasons. Thank you. Construction continues without mind to the continued runoff of concrete and dirt. Runoff of concrete that is collected on the sidewalk running parallel to Allen St has not been properly disposed of. The silt fence was not installed in a way that stops runoff from occurring. Mud and other substances are being tracked onto the main driveway because the construction entrance is not being maintained.
There's a storm sewer that is blocked and causing water to run across the road and into our yard. The blockage is on the 1300 block of west 6th Street and our house is 1315 w 6th st
Homeowner at 1251 W Countryside Ln contacted CBU Eng Dept on 5/9/19 @ 1:35pm regarding a drainage concern. Drainage ditch running between his home and the neighboring home to the West is holding water. He is concerned for public safety with mosquitos and such since the water is holding for long periods of time. He would like an Engineer to contact him and meet him on site to see what can be done to correct the problem. Tonia advised the homeowner that the Engineer was not back in the office until 5/13/19. He stated that he understood and that he did not have any immediate concerns about waiting until next week.
