I just wanted to report that one of the crosswalk buttons at the corner of S College Mall Rd and Covenanter Dr (Southwest corner) is not working. Thanks!
The "walk" button on the northeast corner of the College Mall/Covenanter intersection is not functioning. In trying to cross College Mall, I could not get the button to work, so I could never get a "walk" signal.
Left turn signal from Oakdale Dr onto West Bloomfield does not provide sufficient opportunity. Present timing is only sufficient for one to two vehicles to turn through green. Flashing yellow is only available if other vehicles activate sensors in other lanes. The result is a maximum of only two to three vehicles making the left turn safely per cycle, although there are often 6-8 in queue. Request adjustment of inductive loop sensor timing to achieve improved flow and eliminate multi-cycle wait for vehicles traveling from north on Oakdale Dr to west on W Bloomfield Rd.
When travelling westbound on Bloomfield Rd. The red light on the left side traffic signal is out.
Traffic signal on Bloomfield westbound: red light is out
School bus drivers are complaining the light barely stays green long enough to get from Oakdale through the light to Basswood or to turn left. This is my 2nd time putting in this request as I was told this light is maintained by the state and I would need to contact INDOT. I did that and they referred me back to you. Here is the e-mail I received from them regarding this: kenmiller@indot.in.gov Dear Ms. Silvernail, Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The intersection of W Bloomfield Road and Oakdale Drive/S Basswood Drive is outside of INDOT jurisdiction. Those roads are city streets under the jurisdiction of the City of Bloomington. I understand that you contacted them already, but I can confirm that they are city streets, which INDOT does not maintain. Here is the link to their website: https://bloomington.in.gov/departments/public-works/street and phone number: 812-349-3448. You can stay informed 24/7 by visiting 511in.org or by downloading INDOT TrafficWise in the app store. Spring forward into safety! Buckle Up, Phone Down. Green bulb is out on the North side of the intersection
this light appears to be mis-timed or not functioning properly to allow normal flow of traffic. I drive this intersection multiple times per day and it consistently stops E/W traffic when there is no traffic on N/S side, no pedestrian pushing the walk button. this causes E/W traffic to back up.
The traffic light at 1200 S Rolling Way and Bloomfield sometimes takes upwards of 10 minutes to cycle to allow left turning traffic from the apartment complexes.
