E. Covenanter signal at College Mall Rd stays green far too long 24 hours a day. 50 seconds is too long for the amount of traffic that uses Covenanter. It causes back-ups on College Mall Rd during the day, and I sat for almost a minute at 2am last night on the way to the emergency room.
The traffic light at the intersection of South College Mall Rd and Covenanter has messed up light timing early in the morning. I go to work and am passing through the intersection at about 6:05am, and the people traveling on College Mall Rd (which is the main road with the most constant traffic) only have a 25 second green light, when the people traveling across Covenanter have a 50 second green light. Please pretty please consider switching the two light timings so that the main road has the most time to pass through the light, or make it a sensor triggered light perhaps at that time of day? Most of the time not one person will pass through crossing over on Covenanter while there are 5-8 cars waiting at the light on College Mall. It really makes no sense. I hope this can be changed. The current congestion on W Bloomfield Rd., west of Highway 37, seems to be caused in part by the timing of traffic signal here (the intersection of W. Bloomfield Rd., S. Basswood Dr., and S. Oakdale Dr.), Almost all the traffic here is east-west on Bloomfield Rd. There is very little traffic on Basswood Dr. or Oakdale Dr. But the but the traffic signal stays green for a very long time for the south traffic on Basswood Dr. and the north traffic on Oakdale Dr. I think the congestion of Bloomfield Rd. would be alleviated somewhat if the traffic signal at this intersection were reset so that it stayed green longer for the ease-west Bloomfield Rd. traffic. College mall road and covenanter drive. Light flashing red.,signal not working
The timing of the light at college mall rd and E 3rdst is such that persons traveling east on 3rd st can’t make it through the light because the traffic turning left onto south college mall rd blocks the intersection. I waited through more than 5 lights tonight.
The sensors are not working properly. Early in the morning, when there is no traffic, I will often sit on college mall road heading north for 2+ minutes. It runs through the entire cycle including crosswalks...even if no one else is at the light. There are now often many cars backed up at the light. It is very in efficient. Thanks for your help!
Timing improvement college mall road/coventanter stop light - before 7am eastbound covenanter gets green light, then westbound even if no one is there, then there are turn arrows.....makes for a long light for stopped College Mall Road vehicles when traffic is very light at that time of day.
When headed west on Covenanter over college mall, the left turn green arrow is very faint and almost impossible to see in the daytime
Traffic light is operating from a timer, not traffic. I am experiencing this as the only car north/south in the mornings around 5:30a.m.; no cars east/west to trigger the signal
On Saturday I was eastbound on Covenanter and pulled up to the traffic light at College Mall Rd. I was in the right lane and the signal went through a full rotation and never gave me a green light to cross College Mall Rd. I ended up turning right/south on red.
