The light at 2nd and Patterson needs a longer left turn signal, going from Patterson onto 2nd street. The time of the turn light is way too short. This has been a problem for years. I was the 6th car back in the turn line this morning and had to wait THREE LIGHT CYCLES to even make it through. Please make it a turn signal longer. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe it is just me, but it seems like installing signs and marking the new speed bumps on S. Washington would be a smart idea. The bumps that were installed blend in perfectly to the existing pavement, the paint is woefully inadequate to be visible under any conditions, and there are no signs indicating that there are bumps. People are being taken for quite the ride thanks to another phenomenal job by the city with a poorly implemented traffic calming device.
Westbound traffic on E Hillside congests at the S Walnut and E Hillside traffic light, which often causes backups and results in traffic blocking the E Hillside and S Washington intersection. Can there be a “do not block intersection” or one of the roadway painted Xs placed at that intersection? This has happened to me numerous times, and I get frustrated and honk, and E Hillside drivers either ignore me, or give me a mean look like this was my fault when they’re blocking the roadway.
I reside at 1909 E. Windsor Dr. Recently many of the streets in our neighborhood were repaved and speed humps were installed. However, our street from the corner of Arden Dr to the three-way stop corner of Wilton Dr were repaved but not speed humps. I am advocating for 1-2 to be installed on Windsor Dr between these two intersections. Very few autos stop at the three-way and I believe the speed hump will slow them down as they come to the Windsor & Wilton intersection and make for a much safer intersection. An older resident in the neighborhood explained how Windsor Dr at one time was a straight east-west street and the Windsor & Wilton intersection was a straight T with only one direction having a stop sign. The city, many years ago, changed this intersection to add a three-way stop and curve Windsor out so to slow down traffic. Maybe it worked, but not so much from our vantage point. I have small grandchildren that are with me a lot and I'd like the area to be safer for pedestrians. Lots of dog walkers and people walking in general and there are NO sidewalks for the most part in our neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. Cherokee drive is now a through street to Osage place and already drivers are driving too quickly down the hill. I'm requesting that a traffic calming bump be installed somewhere in the new Osage place Cherokee Drive. Thanks for keeping our narrow street safe.
Speed bumps/rumble strips. Pedestrian crossing light. I’ve been almost run over numerous times here in the crosswalk people are going 40 or 50 miles an hour—-very dangerous for pedestrians crossing.
I live in the trailer court on Muller pkwy and every year with the influx of students I have been trying to turn left on to Muller pkwy and multiple times cars have come out on to 3rd Street trying to turn left ignoring the Do not enter sign I have almost been hit on multiple occasions. Then on Muller Pkwy itself students speed and do not pay attention to pedestrians and their dogs there isn't a sidewalk or speed bumps to slow we traffic down there isn't a speed bump until by the apartments complex Village at the Muller t
High traffic corner; extremely difficult to turn onto hillside for normal traffic and school traffic especially with all the trucks pulling into Carlisle
The northbound side of N Kinser Pike at the intersection with SR 45 could desperately use a dedicated right turn lane, as traffic often backs through multiple traffic light cycles. I already reached out to INDOT and they said that they don't have any funded projects on their end. BUT they would be willing to work with the city if we wanted to take the initiative. Folks frequently use the shoulder here as a makeshift turn lane but it is full of potholes and not well-suited for this purpose. A dedicated turn lane would greatly help improve throughput during busy times when the light is very short. There is ample room to expand, and it appears that the lots already belong to DOT and the Indiana DNR. Resolution: Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation. Our Traffic Investigations Engineer has reported a turn lane would require widening with full-depth pavement and utility relocation. INDOT does not have any funded projects to construct a right turn lane at this location. If the City would like to pursue the addition of a turn lane on Kinser Pk, they can work with INDOT Permits. Speed limit on Patterson Drive is still 40, from the old truck route to RCA. Should be 30.
