Cherokee drive is now a through street to Osage place and already drivers are driving too quickly down the hill. I'm requesting that a traffic calming bump be installed somewhere in the new Osage place Cherokee Drive. Thanks for keeping our narrow street safe.
I reside at 1909 E. Windsor Dr. Recently many of the streets in our neighborhood were repaved and speed humps were installed. However, our street from the corner of Arden Dr to the three-way stop corner of Wilton Dr were repaved but not speed humps. I am advocating for 1-2 to be installed on Windsor Dr between these two intersections. Very few autos stop at the three-way and I believe the speed hump will slow them down as they come to the Windsor & Wilton intersection and make for a much safer intersection. An older resident in the neighborhood explained how Windsor Dr at one time was a straight east-west street and the Windsor & Wilton intersection was a straight T with only one direction having a stop sign. The city, many years ago, changed this intersection to add a three-way stop and curve Windsor out so to slow down traffic. Maybe it worked, but not so much from our vantage point. I have small grandchildren that are with me a lot and I'd like the area to be safer for pedestrians. Lots of dog walkers and people walking in general and there are NO sidewalks for the most part in our neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. Speed bumps/rumble strips. Pedestrian crossing light. I’ve been almost run over numerous times here in the crosswalk people are going 40 or 50 miles an hour—-very dangerous for pedestrians crossing.
I live in the trailer court on Muller pkwy and every year with the influx of students I have been trying to turn left on to Muller pkwy and multiple times cars have come out on to 3rd Street trying to turn left ignoring the Do not enter sign I have almost been hit on multiple occasions. Then on Muller Pkwy itself students speed and do not pay attention to pedestrians and their dogs there isn't a sidewalk or speed bumps to slow we traffic down there isn't a speed bump until by the apartments complex Village at the Muller t
Excessive speed by most motorists from high street to Sheridan drive. No traffic control measures in place , add speed bumps or a stop sign at Eastside or something . Also many deer in area and not one single deer warning sign.
Requesting a pedestrian crosswalk here. The sidewalk ends on opposite sides of the street but there is not a pedestrian crosswalk to cross the road. There is a school, park and YMCA nearby that people are walking to and they have to cross quickly without the pedestrian marking.
I AM REACHING OUT ABOUT A SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY CONCERN I'VE NOTICED NEAR COLLINS THAT I WAS WANTING TO GET TAKEN CARE OF AS CENTER PRESIDENT THIS YEAR. BETWEEN THE MAIN QUAD ON WOODLAWN AND THE HILLCREST APARTMENTS, THERE IS NO CROSSWALK/PEDESTRIAN CROSSING/YIELD SIGN EVEN THOUGH WE ARE SITUATED DIRECTLY BETWEEN TWO BUSY INTERSECTIONS. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE WE DO HAVE LIGHT POSTS ON THIS PATH, THEY ARE ONLY ON ONE SIDE OF THE STREET, AND THE BULBS ARE VERY DIM. I WAS WONDERING HOW I WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE A CHANGE IMPLEMENTED HERE. THE COLLINS LLC HAS ART STUDIOS IN BOTH THE MAIN QUAD AND AT HILLCREST, AND THEY ARE HARD TO ACCESS SAFELY, ESPECIALLY FOR SOME OF OUR STUDENTS WHO HAVE CHRONIC ILLNESSES AND EYESIGHT ISSUES THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM A YIELD SIGN, INCREASED LIGHTING, AND POSSIBLE TACTILE PAVING.
We have lived on first st since 2020 and our stretch of road (between the stop sign at Woodlawn and the one on Henderson) that our young child has to cross to get to his school bus stop is the only section of first Street residentially that has a big space between stop signs and no speed bumps. Because of this what I've noticed, since the speed bumps east of Woodlawn and first were put in, is people often speed on our stretch of road. There are two other families at our bus stop and they have noticed the same thing and often worry about crossing the street to either get to the park or the bus stop as a result. I believe we also need speed bumps on our stretch of road as it feels like drivers are now compensating and trying to make up for lost time.
Vehicles speed down Sare rd (50 mph+) to Canada drive. There needs to be another stop sign before Meadow Creek apartments or a speed bump. There are autistic children in the area, pets, children riding bikes, elderly people, students, and wildlife at risk. These same people are throwing beer cans out the window and many of them are texting and driving. It’s a matter of time before there will be an accident. Thanks
As a pedestrian, there isn't a safe space to cross. Either a stop sign or a light-up cross walk would be immensely helpful and increase pedestrian safety.
