There is standing water in the storm drain directly to the north of 1308 S Palmer's driveway. It has not rained in over a week, so I that assume the drain is clogged. Attached photo is the reflection in the water when looking down into drain.
Pavement around storm drain has crumbled, making the grate a hazard.
The construction at 4th & Rogers(The old Auxiliary Police Building) They have broken through the storm pipe that runs under the back of the building. Thay say all they have to do is fill it with gravel and it will bo ok. This storm drain handles all the street drains in the area. Can they do this? It is part of the drain that flows into the Jordan River.
The storm drain between 1019 and 1017 w 6th st isn't draining. Water is flowing on top of it.
The metal covering over the storm drain in the "round about" has come off. The cover is in the street and the hole is open. The drain looks clogged with mud and debris. There is also a big hole. Kids play in this grassy area. This uncovered drain is a broken leg waiting to happen. The metal cover in the street is a hazard.
Bicycling on Howe, I was struck by the fact that both storm sewer grates appear to be obstructed by yard waste, which will become an issue when we get our spring rains before the thaw. I suspect that this is not an isolated experience.
We had our basement flood (wet carpet in half the basement) on January 20, 2017 without any previous sign of leakage on that side of the house. The source of the water is unclear, but I'm wondering if the home (built ca. 1973) has a footer drain connected to the storm drain. Kevin Potter is coming out to inspect for structural damage at 2 pm today (1/25/17) The city storm drain was updated within the past two years with the new pipe starting at the down-slope corner of our property. The neighbor two houses up-slope from us discharges a lot of water from his property and had excavation work done near the end of his french drain on the 18th or 19th. Part of this work involved off and onloading a sizeable backhoe in front of our driveway near where the old and new drain pipe would be joined. I'm not sure what work the neighbor had done. In addition to his drainage, the neighbor immediately down slope from us was also draining his pool into the storm drain on what had been a very rainy week. Is it possible to send a city employee out to see whether some combination of these activities has caused the drainage system to fail or otherwise backflow into our house? Thanks!
I sent this problem in last week. The resolution was they've been clearing the storm drains but they were not going to pick up the debris and tell leaf pickup. This is going to cause the grass today as it does every fall. In Park Ridge as last year we put our leaves at eight weeks we waited for the leaves to be picked up. If these storm drains are going to have piles of leaves next to them for the next 8 weeks then this intersection is going to flood every single time we have rain. This is at the bottom of Three Hills. And the pile is going to get so large like it did last year 4 by 4 by 3 feet high. That the grass is going to die again. It seems reasonable to have the storm sewers cleared and the debris carried away every time we have a flooding event. If this is not resolved differently I will be contacting the mayor. The storm drain on Eastgate Drive needs to be cleaned off.
On Morton Street, between 6th and 7th Street, on the West side of the road, the storm inlet has sunk and there is a small void to the side of it.
