Drainage pipes that run under the railroad tracks are blocked up again. I cleared as much as I could from the inflows but I can see more material lodged inside. Hope we can get a grate installed at some point to prevent future blockages. Opposite the B-Line trail at lamppost 157. Thanks!

Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)

Case Date:

There are two pipes that run under the railroad tracks, opposite the B-Line trail at lamppost 157, that are part of the stormwater drainage system for the surrounding neighborhoods. They both appear to be almost completely blocked up, effectively creating a stagnant pond on the north side of the tracks. I tried clearing debris from around the mouth with a rake, but I believe the blockages are deeper inside the pipes. It would be good if this could get cleaned out before mosquito breeding season begins. It might also be a good idea to install a grate to prevent larger debris from getting lodged inside these pipes in the future. Thanks!

Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)

815 W 9th ST

Case Date:
3/4/2025

During a phone call about planning questions this morning, I received a request/complaint about the maintenance of the storm inlet at the northeast corner of Reverend Butler Park, at the southwest corner of 10th Street and Fairview Street. The storm inlet regularly gets blocked with branches and other debris, causing flooding in the park, in 10th Street, and in the basement of 615 North Fairview Street. The caller requests that CBU institute a regular schedule of maintenance to keep this inlet clear. Thank you

Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers)

4100 E Saratoga DR

Case Date:

This is in reference to a prior case submission (#913401) - the prior service request was closed and listed as the property owner's responsibility but the case history for the location shows that in 2014 the same issue was submitted by my former neighbor and the city did resolve the issue with the storm drain being blocked. 9/10/2024 10:05:29 Closed by Emily Tate According to CBU records, the ditch at this location is private property, so maintenance is the responsibility of the property owner, or in some cases a neighborhood group/HOA. Thank you. Dry grate with inches of water around it. At least part of this grate is above grade so there is 2-3 inches of standing water after every rain. The sidewalk and yard get soaked by passing cars and there is usually standing water in the intersection that never drains, just eventually evaporates
