This is the process we must follow per the City Ordinance for Parking Services." The VW Scirocco is still parked outside my house at 404 E 1st Street. Please tell me when it will be removed. Per Ms. Cox, it was scheduled to be towed on DEC 19th; this has not occurred. The vehicle has been here since the Thanksgiving holiday.
When the street light was installed a few weeks ago, the company working for Bloomington had to come back and cut into the boulevard and the street. They patch the street but left the hole in the boulevard. I don't know if they're done: if they are they should come back and fill in the hole. If not they should come back and rope it off. The hole appears to go under to street. There are residents walking and could step into the hole and get hurt, possibly sprain and ankle or fall. Please note this corner is also a pick site for students riding the bus.
In the alleyway behind 1502 E University St, a large dead tree just fell southward (away from the electric wires). Upon my request, a neighbor just moved a section that was blocking S. Swain. This clump of trees had had other sections fall in the last year and municipal or power-line workers removed sections of it but the entire cluster needs to come down since it is a hazard to those of us who walk down S. Swain. Right now the rotted dead tree is lying on the ground.
Sexton Wilbert vault company continuously violates the cities noise ordinance and I would like to file a formal complaint. I have lived in the neighborhood for over 35 years without complaint, however, S & W is getting increasingly getting louder with their semi-truck idling for over 2 hours every week (1 - 3:30 a.m.). Also, their access from the street needs to be looked at. It is very dangerous to the traffic traveling east/west on Allen street. The access is too steep for them to stop with their oversized equipment attached to their vehicles. There was an accident a few weeks ago because the truck could not stop and crashed into oncoming traffic. This accident destroyed my mailbox and damaged my yard. I would greatly appreciate if someone from the street department could investigate the access in and out of Sexton Wilbert Vault Company. It is very dangerous and needs to be addressed. Mailboxes have been knocked since before Christmas. Now mail is not being delivered and is either being returned or help at one of the Bloomington Post offices.
My apartment X32 has flooded 4x since April 2024, with the last time being on December 16, 2024. After the 3rd time it flooded on May 15, 2024, they informed me that a drain pipe was leaking directly into my apartment and placed a plastic pipe to extend the drainage. However, this was not a permanent fit and it flooded again. On December 17, 2024 I went into the leasing office and asked to relocated by the end of January. They stated they could not accommodate this and someone would reach out to me later in the week. No one did. I left a message on January 1st and they called me back on January 2nd. I informed my apartment that a mold test kit tested positive for mold in an air test of the bedroom as well as a swab test for under part of my living room and bedroom baseboards. I was informed mold was everywhere and in order to leave the unit I would have to find another tenant to sub lease it or pay 3 months rent for a buy out. I don't believe these conditions are safe for me in the long term and they are refusing to provide a permanent fix to the issue. Their current fix is to place another plastic drain pipe, which was only a fix from May to December.
