There appears to be a small homeless camp in the backyard behind the unoccupied house with a tent and two abandoned vehicles. The house itself has been vacant for many years and none of the people staying there seem to be entering the home. A relative of the people who own the house, a man named Bob, began staying in the backyard over a year ago, but he has since left and other people are now staying there in his absence. Recently, neighbors have found human feces and needles in their yard nearby, creating sanitary concerns, as well as heard a woman yelling in what sounded like distress at night. Outreach to the family of the property owner has not been successful so far, so I’m hoping someone could please look into this situation. Thank you!

We own a business building next to Kinser Flats. During covid, business slowed down and people had to work from home. The people that still went to the office became uncomfortable there due to the fighting next door, gun fire, profanity, vagrant people who would be passed out on the back deck, human waste, needles in the yard and on deck, random junk cars in the parking lot, zombie like people with camp sites set up in the yard and huge amounts of trash. We have had to replace Hvac (5 units) 2 times due to vandalism and had a concrete block thrown through a window, another window cracked, lots of broken outdoor furnishings, torn up masonry and lawn equipment stolen from shed that was also completely torn down. As a result of all of this, the value of the property has gone down significantly. We would like to get back into the building to do business and would like help/cooperation with the city and the people running Kinser Flats to make this possible. This building was a beautiful and safe place to work and do business before Kinser Flats and now it is unsafe and impossible upkeep. Please help!!!!!!!!!! Lucinda Farkas Owner, 441 W Gourley Pike

As I read this article GOP senators announce bill to block payments to illegal immigrants from separated families, it brought me to petition to give instruction or to inform my elected official's of our constitutional representative republic that as such the city is backing constrictive treason for the support shown in the May 17 2010 notice SB 1070 to seek to conspire to knowing back ILL -legal immigration. The Mayor has the power to start the process to repeal the notice. In doing so will help restore the constitutional order in such matters and displace the unconstitutional strive of plight of danger's of Communistic values & its sister Mob democracy which such a misapplication distorts the sovereignty of America.

National Train a Teacher Day is June 18th, 2022 , in the wake of the rash of school shootings it is apparent the need to petition and instruct city or county officials in regard to the duty to regulation of Miltia for the general common defense of the constitutional represented republic. Our Government is obligated & needs to demand the state team up with retraining Indiana Army National Guard etal and deploy them in our schools along with support from a in house JROTC Armed & trained dogs in schools and every teacher should be armed. The active stance where there should be Armed personal the officials are placating constructive treason and warrant crminal endangerment

Hi there, I have noticed a large increase in homeless activity in Bloomington this year. In the past, homeless individuals have largely remained in Seminary Park. Now, I see them camped in the park by Hartzell’s on Kirkwood, up by the square further north on Walnut, and even in Bryan Park. Homelessness is a complex problem and individuals in this situation face unfathomable challenges, but many of my peers and I feel their presence in social areas of Bloomington has negatively impacted the safety and cleanliness of the city. Just yesterday, I witnessed a homeless man harass a girl sitting in Brother’s Bar and Grill by slapping the window as if he was slapping her bottom through the window. It made me feel unsafe in my Bloomington home. Similarly, the park near Hartzell’s on Kirkwood is no longer an inviting place to eat ice cream with friends due to the mess left by homeless populations in this area. I am so sorry for their situation and challenges they face, but I do not want the homeless epidemic to impact the value and vibrance of the many lovely green spaces in Bloomington. For these reasons, I wanted to express my concerns about the spread of homelessness in Bloomington this past year and implore you to seek solutions for the issue. I am not an expert in social services or rehabilitation, so I am not sure if there are solutions to this problem, but I hope the city of Bloomington will take my concerns to heart to both help the homeless and improve the safety and well-being of Bloomington. There is a homeless encampment in the woods across the creek immediately behind my home in a residential neighborhood. A matter of feed away from my property. I have sent a letter/email to Mayor and Dep Mayor with no response. As the leaves fall, I will be staring at the encampment and they will be staring right into my home. I have to regularly call the fire dept due to fires at the encampment. I have to listen to them scream, yell and fight. I am also a licensed rehabber and am terribly upset with the way they have ruined the wildlife territory. The woods behind my home is one of the primary reasons that I bought my home almost 10 years ago. I am worried for my children's safety and well being (as well as my own) as the encampment grows. I am devastated that there is now a potential that part of those woods will be removed due to the encampment. There is also a daycare 3 houses from mine as well as several children who I have seen play around the woods and should be able to without fear of an encampment and being hurt. I will happily provide any needed info, picts I have, etc.
