The Mayor's office should really post information on the city website and not just on Facebook. Facebook is a toxic platform that requires an account and residents should not be forced to engage on that platform just to get basic information. If the Mayor wants to post things there that is fine but it can't be the only source of information.

Why don’t you recognize the number of complaints surrounding homeless issues…encampments, nuisance and harassment since 90% of your complaints surround this issue? The needs to be recognition of the severity of this issue and it starts with the city government recognizing how much influence has on the negativity and safety of the entire community Yesterday in front of the library the was a homeless person yelling at top of his lungs and flailing his arms at anyone the dared walk past him…the entire issue is treated a a pass along.

There are people doing drugs and sleeping in the mini barn in back of the empty house. I’m afraid and the police wouldn’t come out because I don’t own the property.
I know that my home is not in the city, but I believe that the issue may be in the city. There is a bright flashing light on a tower somewhere that flashes so bright that it interrupts sleep. If it is a bit cloudy, it even looks like the sky is lighting up. We have lived in our home for 5 years and this is new in the last few months. We cannot find the location of the source. From our home, it is located to the east of us and is on the east side of state road 45 about a mile past University Elementary school. Can you help us? Hello, Bloomington has a safety problem with its homeless population. Our daughter is a senior at IU, she lives off campus, near downtown. She calls me as she walks places because she is afraid of the homeless and their behavior. This afternoon I received a call to tell me two homeless men were walking through their neighborhood, under the influence, and checking doors of homes as they went through the area. The City needs to address this issue to insure its residents are safe.
There is a homeless encampment in the woods across the creek immediately behind my home in a residential neighborhood. A matter of feed away from my property. I have sent a letter/email to Mayor and Dep Mayor with no response. As the leaves fall, I will be staring at the encampment and they will be staring right into my home. I have to regularly call the fire dept due to fires at the encampment. I have to listen to them scream, yell and fight. I am also a licensed rehabber and am terribly upset with the way they have ruined the wildlife territory. The woods behind my home is one of the primary reasons that I bought my home almost 10 years ago. I am worried for my children's safety and well being (as well as my own) as the encampment grows. I am devastated that there is now a potential that part of those woods will be removed due to the encampment. There is also a daycare 3 houses from mine as well as several children who I have seen play around the woods and should be able to without fear of an encampment and being hurt. I will happily provide any needed info, picts I have, etc.
