Why don’t you recognize the number of complaints surrounding homeless issues…encampments, nuisance and harassment since 90% of your complaints surround this issue? The needs to be recognition of the severity of this issue and it starts with the city government recognizing how much influence has on the negativity and safety of the entire community
Yesterday in front of the library the was a homeless person yelling at top of his lungs and flailing his arms at anyone the dared walk past him…the entire issue is treated a a pass along.

There are people doing drugs and sleeping in the mini barn in back of the empty house. I’m afraid and the police wouldn’t come out because I don’t own the property.

I know that my home is not in the city, but I believe that the issue may be in the city. There is a bright flashing light on a tower somewhere that flashes so bright that it interrupts sleep. If it is a bit cloudy, it even looks like the sky is lighting up. We have lived in our home for 5 years and this is new in the last few months. We cannot find the location of the source. From our home, it is located to the east of us and is on the east side of state road 45 about a mile past University Elementary school. Can you help us? If there is someone else I should contact, please tell me who that is. Thank you.

There is a homeless camp behind our subdivision, Shady Acres at 708 S.Cory Lane.
They have been walking through here to access the main roads.
This is a small subdivision with probably 60% widow and/or single elderly women.
We are requesting help in getting this camp removed.
Thank you.

There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.

I have a question for city staff. Is the city going to have another mask mandate due to flu outbreak? Have there been any discussions? Thank you.

Hello,
Bloomington has a safety problem with its homeless population. Our daughter is a senior at IU, she lives off campus, near downtown. She calls me as she walks places because she is afraid of the homeless and their behavior. This afternoon I received a call to tell me two homeless men were walking through their neighborhood, under the influence, and checking doors of homes as they went through the area.
The City needs to address this issue to insure its residents are safe.

There is a homeless camp developing in the woods on North Summit Street, between W 11th St and W Cottage Grove Ave. We live right next door on W Cottage Grove Ave. There are mountains of trash accumulating, used syringes on the ground, broken glass, yelling and screaming at all hours of the day and night, people loitering in the middle of the street so people can't get through, people changing in the street, broken glass, and numerous inoperable vehicles taking up the entire street that some are living in, in addition to the tents. I understand this may be private property, but given that we got a fine simply for our trash bin accidentally being outside an extra day, there has to be something that can be done. We will continue to report it and report it until it is handled effectively. I do not feel safe or comfortable going to and from my house or walking my dogs, and there are several children that live in this vicinity. The Boys and Girls Club and Middle School are right down the road. I know the homeless issue is rampant in Bloomington and there were two recent homeless campsite evictions. In the news, one of the homeless men interviewed said they were just going to move further down the B-Line. Well, here they are. This isn't safe or sanitary and is disturbing the peace of mind of the hardworking individuals who actually live here.
